Yes it’s so much cheaper in Mexico. I was shocked when I went to buy a cream I buy in USA for 15$ plus tax and in Mexico it was less than 75cents and it was 2x as big.
I didn't realize until after I moved to Mexico that "dental tourism" was a big thing. Apparently people in Texas and California who live near the border have been doing this for decades. Also eyeglasses -- especially for kids who usually need a back-up pair when they break or lose them.
I didn't realize it either until we went to Tijuana a few years ago, so fascinating, but I can totally understand why. The quality of care was amazing and the price is literally a fraction of what it would be in the US.
My dentist just told me that I have to have a root canal a few fillings, and maybe a couple crowns and the cost is going to be $10,080. This is after I’ve given him over $9000 for three other root canals that I do not think you did a good job on as the crowns don’t seem to be on the gum line. 😞 I must go to Mexico to get the rest of my dental work done because I simply cannot afford it in the United States. I will be traveling from Florida. It looks like the closest, safest place to travel to in Mexico from Florida would be Monterey. Unfortunately it doesn’t get a lot of dental reviews online mostly I see Juarez Mexico, Tijuana and of course los Algodores for dental tourism .

Another reason I like this channel...Sitting here in the US deciding which RUclips video to watch, I spot the title and am suddenly curious about what it's like to go to the dentist in Mexico. Cool. Now I know. Thanks for sharing and glad all went well. The only place outside the US I've visited a dentist was in Germany. Also a very positive experience.
So I hear it’s much much cheaper in Mexico and I seen prices and it’s astonishing! A root canal here in my city of San Diego is $1k and with the crown it’s $1k more. $2k. That same procedure in Tijuana charges $700 for the same job! $2k vs $700? I take the $700 because I have saved at least $3k for dental work. So... that would cover a lot in Mexico.
I want to thank you for sharing your story:) I’ve been quoted $65k for work on my teeth and am so happy to keep finding positive reviews on Mexico’s dentists.
That's good to know! We were communicating in Spanish except when she said "rough" in english when asking if my filling felt smooth or not at the end of the appointment haha.
Yeah, and our dental insurance sucks in America. Mine has a $1500 max that my insurance will pay out for the year. That's no good when a dental implant in North Dakota is $7500 right now.
Great info! Glad you got that taken care of! I’m planning to get a bridge when I come (cost prohibitive in the U.S.) Btw, the way you pronounce “pesos” is different than I’ve ever heard! Love your videos!
Glad you enjoy the videos, hope you can get your tooth sorted soon! I did't realize I said it so oddly 🤷 I've never pronounced it "paysos" I just drag out the s a bit I guess when I'm saying it in English.
Thanks for sharing so much with us! I love that you share things that are of consideration for future expats, like experience with healthcare. A bit off topic, is internet speed different depending on location? Or is it just a matter of upgrading services or something like that?
It's definitely location specific. For instance, where I was near Manzanillo you couldn't get fibre optic even if you upgraded to the best plan. If you are in the cities around Mexico, then yes simply upgrading service will give you better internet.
Some of the best dentists are in Mexico. I was quoted 60K for all on 4 dental implants in Canada. 19K in Mexico. What a huge saving. Screw Canadian dentists and their prices.
Wow that's insane! Also sounds like a lot in Mexico to be honest, but I've never had implants so I'm not sure! I've had only great experiences here in Mexico with all medical care.
I paid in cash, in Pesos. It depends on the dentist, the size of the practice, and where it is in Mexico, but this particular one in Barra de Navidad was a small business run just by the woman who was the dentist and we paid in cash.
Yes it’s so much cheaper in Mexico. I was shocked when I went to buy a cream I buy in USA for 15$ plus tax and in Mexico it was less than 75cents and it was 2x as big.
Yes! Medication is so much cheaper here and much easier to get as well.

@@laura-bronner I totally agree. Excellent quality of care -- and not just "for the price." It truly is excellent regardless of the savings.

Were you able to get the work done?
@@Anne--Marie I ahven't been to Mexico yet due to the Covid situation, but I'm still planning on going..
@@sugarbomb26 Good luck and stay safe!
Did you go yet? I was quoted 28k. I need it under 7k. Find a good place?
I believe the University of Guadalajara has the top medical school in Mexico. I'm guessing you were communicating in English?
That's good to know! We were communicating in Spanish except when she said "rough" in english when asking if my filling felt smooth or not at the end of the appointment haha.
Could you please mention the towns (US/Mex) you were in and the name of the dentist?
It's sad AMERICAN people have to go eles where just for affordable dental care

You still have silver fillings from childhood?

@@laura-bronner Very helpful to know. Thanks. You are so kind!
I’m trying to find a dentist for work and I’m from New Jersey just relocated to ARIZONA I HAVE NO REFERENCES ANY HELP WOULD BE HELPFUL
Make sure that you don't get a mercury amalgam, go for a white filling every time. You'll appreciate it later on in life.
Yes! I got a normal white filling, thanks!
Tons of those from childhood
What’s the name of the dentist you went to? And would you recommend? Thanks!
There is only one dentist in Barra de Navidad. She was great I would recommend her if you're in that area for sure. Very affordable as well.
Great info , thanks 😀😀😀😀
I have to go dentist next week
what is the dentist link...I need a root canal and crown as well as a bridge on another tooth does she do that type of work?
I got question so I'm trying to go but I wanna know like where do u stay between dental visits..? And does that cost
Any idea how much a root canal and crown costs in Mexico?

I was quoted 95k pesos for 5 basic implants it’s around 4.25k usd it’s in poza rica , Veracruz
So yeah...
HOW DO THEY ACCEPT PAYMENT FOR THEIR SERVICES ? Cash, card, dollars, pesos?

Is it cheaper than the US?
Much, much MUCH cheaper!
Wow that’s cheap!!!
Right?! So cheap and she did SUCH a good job, too!
