Awesome Speech by Mr. Ford to what seemed to be a very attentive group of students, and staff. I encourage all who were listening to follow that advice and continue participating in the visual and performing arts for the rest of your life.
I march with the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Performance Ensemble. This speech was given by our amazing director Kevin Ford after our finals performance at BOA Grand National Championships. Mr. Ford marched DCI at a very young age. He started writing drill and directing drum corps in his very early 20s. Mr. Ford has taught at Tarpon for 30 years, and this was our 15th Grand Nationals. Throughout the course of this year, we have been hit by 2 hurricanes. Many of our performers lost their homes, and those of us who did not spent much time helping our friends. We lost weeks of rehearsal because of this. Despite these challenges, we kept giving our best, and that is what made this night so special. As Mr. Ford says in this speech, doing everything we could do and putting in all our effort is what made this season a success. I am so glad I got to march with Tarpon this year of all years, I am so thankful to Mr. Ford and all our staff, and I am beyond satisfied with the course of this season. Thanks to my family for supporting me, and to my dad for recording this video.
