Back with another video! This one was commonly requested. I discuss 4 practical tips for managing muscle imbalances. As you will see, I typically don't suggest training your "weaker side" with more sets, but to use other more effective training methods.
I noticed that the right side of my upper body/biceps are more developed than my left side. Even though I’m left handed, anything sport related (baseball or football) is thrown with my right side and unconsciously when I carry heavy long boxes I put it on my right shoulder, that made my right lats stronger, better developed and more stable than my left side. Now I’m trying to get my left side more engaged with the physical activities I do throughout the day. This video helped me tremendously to be more consistent with my left side mind-muscle connection and control.
I’ve lately been going to the gym but I’ve noticed a while back that my my left arm being my dominant hand is much stronger than my right arm being my non dominant arm which feels a bit weaker. I will take these useful tips and incorporate them into my workouts thank you!!
my right shoulder rolls forward and resulting in a chest imbalance. my left pec is bigger. also the long head of my left tricep is bigger. btw thank you so much for the video i appreciate it you're a life saver
Happens, I'm right handed but my left upper lat and teres are more defined, and I have better m-m connection with left side, my squat is also uneven at hip
@@hayotkamchiev I'm right handed, my right side shoulder is smaller 😂, right bicep is weaker, right forearm is bigger, right quad is slightly weaker, right side of hip is less mobile😂😂 A lot of imbalances
I can curl 80 lbs, but it’s real tough with my left hand. My left hand will be struggling while my right is basically chilling, just waiting for the left to catch up. This is what I’m trying to fix.
I would use more single-arm/single-leg movements. Not necessarily doing more reps on the weaker side. If you perform more unilateral exercises, the imbalance will correct itself over time.
@@iWannaBurnFat Thank you for the advice and feedback! I will make sure to start doing single arm and legs workouts to fix out that imbalance! 💪💪😃😃I am mentally challenge with a learning disability so i can be a bit on the slow side when learning something but this should help me. Thank you again. 😊
Hello, I'm not sure if anyone can help me out. I used to include working out my shoulders but now for like 3-4 months (maybe more unfortunately) I haven't worked out shoulders and I noticed the were pretty small compared to the rest of my body. Can anybody help me on how can I bring them to the same size as the other muscles?
I fractured my left hand...for which it caused muscle degeneration....Now the strength is far apart. I can rep 10kg dumbbell 20 times with my right hand. But my left hand can barely do 10 reps with 5kg.
I actually walk with kind of a limp because I feel like I put more pressure on my right leg(dominant), I have to consciously try to put the same amount of pressure on my left leg it's annoying lol
Im right handed and my right hand has smaller biceps and is the weakest for gripping while my left hand feels larger then my right and stronger. Why is it like that?
4 things. My left trap is bigger than my right and the shoulder is higher, due to torticollis accident 2yo. Right tricep is bigger than my left one. My right pectoral is slightly bigger than the other. My right bicep goes to the right more than my left one goes to the left, if that makes sense. I have been doing one arm exercises for a while, but nothing is changing, I need help ASAP.
I'm left handed, but my right arm looks a bit bigger than the left BUT the left is waaaaaaaaaaay stronger than the right. I've been suffering from this for years now and i don't know what to do
My left side is weaker than my right like my back right muscles, right side of my chest, right bicep, right tricep, and right shoulders are more built than my left. Do I do more sets on my weaker with less weight and less sets on my right side but more weight?
Incorporate also some single-arm isolation work. Something like concentration curls, for instance. In which you can focus on training each arm individually.
Okay so help me with this my left arm is weak so while doing biceps I can do curl and hammer but when I got to concentration I can't even lift 4kg which my lightest weight Because left arm is so fatigued like in 1st 2 exercises I can do reps with 5kg but 7.5 is tough and then in 3rd execrsies I can't even do 5 or 6 with left so what to do with this it's frustrating
Hey bro i started gym recently (10 days ago ). Before that I haven't been in any sports, exercise. I can do 2.5kg dumbbell easily with my both arms but i am not able to do the same with the 5kg dumbbell. What should i do ? Should i continue with 2.5kg weight for next 2-3 weeks and then gradually increase the weight? Please reply 🙏
A little late to this party since the video with two years ago but it's a question I currently have. Let's use the dumbbell biceps curl as an example: If I'm doing those curls I can curl X amount of time with my right arm to failure. But when I switch to my left I can usually get three more curls out before I fail. So, do I let my right side guide my left? If I can only get 10 curls with my right arm do I stop at 10 with my left despite the fact I could do 2-3 more?
Yes indeed! You purposely guide with the left arm and let it catch up with your right side. Even if this means leaving ~2-3 reps on the right arm. I would recommend this if the imbalance is very noticeable and you would like to do something about it. A short-term investment to help balance out the strength of your arms :)
Hey so one question if one of my arms has more muscles than the other is it that big of a deal and should i fix it or am i ok to continue what i am doing?
is it possible to come back to full strength from a later jet shoulder surgery? its been a little over a year since mine and on certain exercises like shoulder press i cant do nearly as much weight for as many reps
to stretch the obliques and lats, how long should i do it, and also if my left shoulder is higher than my right should i stretch my left obliques or my right obliques
what's not addressed is that once you start doing one side weighted movements is that a lot of exercises have other muscles coming into activation, if your trying to fix a uneven chest and you do dumbbell press well we all know that a chest press activates shoulder tricep and back at least a little bit. so now those muscles are going to go uneven over time and so forth. its a very frustrating cripple effect that leads to uneven muscles everywhere. this is something ALL these training guys don't menton. in my experience pick an exersie that's you find you can completely isolate the muscle needing work. its incredibly difficult sow and frustrating. but I still haven't found a video able to actually diagnose this problem and be 100% effective

Thanks for the video. I’m 15 and notice my left shoulder is smaller than my right same with my left arm
Left Bicep, chest and leg is bigger but right abs is bigger

But after watching this I think it will work out 🙏
Awesome! You got this :)
Im Right Handed , but my left bicep is more visible than right.
Although both can lift same and do same reps
Continue building both arms! The size will balance out over time💪🏽

Could be due to form. I'd check your biceps training form to see if you are favoring the left hand.

Ahh yes, with more unilateral training and the mental focus on the left leg during exercises like squats, it'll improve over time.
