This is the most amazing playing I have ever heard from him… when the sun meets the sky is the epitome of guitar playing in my book… Thank you very much for sharing !! Best regards, Grisha
1:28:02 Interesting thing to note here. He has used this motif before in the 1984 version of cliffs on austin city limits. Extremely rare to hear EJ play the same lick note for note during improv sections.
I've enjoyed his music since the mid '80s and seen him live many times. This is Eric at the height of his powers in this phenomenal recording. Thanks for posting this one!
Thank you for sharing! This concert is all awesome, maybe the best ej era in terms of guitar technique (that G3 time), "Rock me baby" and "when the sun meets the sky" were unbelievable played!
@@ejtonefanI was at the Ft Wayne Indiana show and I was surprised by how on point he is still. He’s almost 70 doing things I could never dream of doing on a guitar😂
at Cosmic687: i disagree. At heatwave show, some tunes were played „too quick“. The song soulful terrain looses his magic when played too fast. This is just one example.

How about that Intro to Soulful Terrain with his Casio Synth guitar!

Thanks! EJ is magic
Liked and subscribed thank you for this upload!
compared to the heatwave 1990 show, he slowed down a lot.
I wouldn't say so, maybe the fast runs aren't as articulated, but damn he's still quick!
You should have heard him on his 2023 Treasure Tour. He was on fire similar to his playing in the late 80s at the 2023 Dallas show.

@@fartsauce We saw him in Dallas last month and he was on fire; as accurate as he was in the mid 90s.
