As an arsenal fan I have to say Mainoo from the small amount of games ive seen him in has a high footballing IQ for this age and will no doubt be a baller as a 8 going forward . He has great ball carrying and passing ability and he can dictate dictate the tempo of the game knows when to slow things down and retain the ball or go forward and creates scoring chances for his teammates. He has great vision and fairly precise distribution.On a defensive contributions level he is timely with interceptions and tackles. His adaptability to different positions is also on a ridiculous level and has bags of agility in tight half spaces as well as amazing composure for this age. I cant see him failing at united he seems to be getting better and better in every game I see him in and doesn't shy away in difficult games and big games . United just need a certified 6 really like Amadou Onana which I hope arsenal can get.

I agree, if he is paired with a true 6 and allowed to play a more attacking role at the 8 he can show his full range of abilities.

Imagine if he had a decent CM pairing, an older top vlass mid. Like in this 3 minute compilation, you can already see how many times our plays die with Scott - either pass it right back to the defence or predictably to a teammate next to him. No creativity at all. Mainoo will shine brighter when he's paired with a baller

I think it more than decent. They're both intelligent terriers which makes up for height, going into duels. They're both teenagers so still room for bulking up and adding an inch or two. Note how I'm only addressing the one shortcoming most people would highlight. I can honestly see no glaring flaw in either so far, just constant development. They're exceptional talents mate. Nothing less.
Scot seems to have improved next to the kid. His first touch has improved and the fear of calling for the ball seems to have disappeared. The kid has a good effect to his teammates

Every top team has ballers for CMs and that's why we're all in agreement that Scott should always be a rotational player. Use that flooding-the-opp-box tactic in the 2nd half against exhausted legs. yes, he is more of an 8 but due to uniteds lack of a 6 he is being played out of position currently. Casemiro is not good enough anymore, utd should look to pair mainoo with a younger cdm.

A testament that all we need is good solid young midfielders and a world class manager. An additional striker, few amendments in the defense and voila we will be a top contender for the league title.
The biggest issue we have right now is TEN HAG. Aston Villa for instance don't have better talented players than us but they are better than us this season. Ten Hag should be sacked.
Mate, how can you blame ETH when he's been forced time and again to make do with the players he has at his disposal? Lol have you watched any game where Lisandro is starting? We play beautiful flowing football bro. He is the cog to ETH system and without a similar back up CB, we will never see that football. I mean, we use McTominay because his positioning on the attack is good and he's apparently scoring. Not for anything else. For this, Eric opts for safe counter football because he literally can't play through the middle (no Lisandro or Casemiro)
I don't think sacking him is the right decision. With the new ownership and a new football director to focus on the transfers I think ten hag can be successful. Currently he has too much to worry about, he needs to just focus on the football and not have to worry about the transfers.

Mainoo goes asleep at times during matches. this His team mates think he is on point but where ever his mind goes to he gets caught in no mans land so often! is he waiting for the glory break? Not for me just yet but getting there.
hes not getting any support from mctominay and bruno. they go up for the attacks but when they lose the ball its mainoo left alone in midfield to defend. constantly being the only defensive midfielder can be tiring. he needs those times "he goes asleep" to recover as well.
