Fixed my scooter, wasn't the compression, used a compression tester and it was fine. Ended up being a faulty CDI/coil. Had a hard time trying to diagnose the issue. Had fuel, spark, valves, timing. everything was perfect. Hard to start and when I did get it running ran like crap. When giving throttle, it went from idle to half throttle ok, then would do this quick on and off cut out, almost like the spark was cutting off. I took a chance and ordered a Cdi and coil from AliExpress for $11. Took a couple weeks but when I put them on she ran perfect. I'm a very happy camper doing the work myself.
@@pugnboots5683 Nice work, CDI's are hard to diagnose when failing. Everything else in the ignition system can be checked with a multi meter. CDI's on the other hand can not be .
My bike has started making a strange sound out of the blue. Sounds like a dry bearing or something really odd sound so im going to have to be stripping it and doing this. Is there any specific tools other than the obvious that i would need. Thank you and great video
@RCBGarage thank you. I've got the flywheel puller I've used on it previously so I'll get the case splitter. Oh and I'll buy one of those miniature flame throwers 😂 as for some reason mine has gone walkies. Thanks bud
If you don't know how many hours of it a bottom end is a must. Just got a bike for a customer running that he just bought, 3 hours and it threw a rod and went threw the block. They were not ment run for ever. If you put the bearing in the freezer and heat the case, you dont need to beat in the crank bearings.
Quick question. The oil filter screen tube that goes into the crankcase does need to be replaced or you can get away with washing it? It is pretty hard to get new ones in my country... sadly
Hi, at 40:19 isn't there a steel ball that goes on either end of the rod you put in? I'm rebuilding a 2007 and want to make sure I put it in the right place. Got the motor in pieces so I didn't see the teardown. Thanks!
Cranks last 50-100 hours depending on how hard you ride. Hot Rod cranks are good to use.....never had an issue with them. Never used Wiesco cranks or pistons those are low quality.
I know how much work it takes to edit these videos, Thanks for the content. Something very satisfying watching an engine get fully rebuild.

Dude... THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this

The two most important tools are a good case splitter and the flywheel puller. The rest of this job uses standard mechanic tools.

Do you have to remove clutch basket to replace the inner clutch cover gaskit? Or can i leave that on and just pull the inner case?
I will now know how to rebuild my engine
Glad the video is helpful.
Great job!! Love your videos! You do awesome work my friend!!
Thanks, I sometimes think I go a little over board.
Your a perfectionist, you do awesome work bud .
After you pulled the crank- how did you clean it? And how can I verify the oiling ports are not blocked?
I cleaned it with break clean and lots of it. I used a half a box of Q-tips to clean all the ports and cavities. Also compressed air

Should be able to clean it and reuse.
Did you have a keyway in the slot on the crankshaft for the flywheel? My new crankshaft didn't have one
The crank should have a key slot. Without it you can’t properly time spark.

There is only one ball and it goes inside the clutch pusher. The other end of the rod touches the lever on the opposite case.
what year is this motor? :D
It’s on the thumbnail
What about the kickstarter assembly?
Sorry for not including that. Check the service manual on how to clock it.
How long did that take?
About 8 hours
So hot rod crank would be a good option for a aftermarket crank?
Hell no
Only use oem cranks...the hot rods n wiesco cranks and a ticking time bomb before the destroy you engine.

Y la engranaje de el arranque 😮
Any chance i could send you my bottom end
