I bought a black leather jacket grom the thrift store a year ago. Haven't worn it yet and now im thinking it may turn into a bag! I just bought a used sewing machine last month, never have sewn before, ive just been learning through RUclips. Wish me luck that i dont destroy the jacket for no reason. Lol
I'm absolutely gob-smacked by how incredible this bag is. And the way you teach, makes it seem so accessible! One thing I can say I've been learning from binge watching your tutorials :) is it's "safe" to cut things up. The way you dive right in on some of the beautiful fabrics you have used to make me gasp with fear!! Hahahaha! I've spent my life not using beautiful fabrics and things that I've collected, because I thought I'd never find anything else like them! And that I'd just make a useless mess! I see how much better it is to just take that chance and cut away! And trust that it will be totally worth it! Even if I do make a mess, I know I'll be gaining such valuable experience. I get it. I'm in-between house, van, & storage with crochet & sewing. I have too much stuff & stuff is not selling because too many people are concerned with high cost of living up here in Indiana. They are trying to pay for living & eating. I'm about ready to donate all my crochet hats & shawls & phone bags. I don't know what to do with it all. I crochet faster than I can sell or gift. Tracy, your work and taste are amazing! I want to share with you that I was an upholsterer for 45 years and worked with the big industrial sewing machine which was a Consew but my Bernina 1130 goes through leather, denim hems, belts and everything else with ease. It even goes through the human thumb and thumbnail with ease, ask me how I know. It’s an older machine and it’s still Bernina’s workhorse. Also, I daily use the ruler cutting blade combo by fiskars. Walmart has been carrying them. I have an online fabric store and cut all day but I also have tendonitis and have had 3 surgeries on my right thumb and wrist and this helps tremendously. I thought these tools might help save your wrist and make life easier. At least I hope so.

I get it. I'm in-between house, van, & storage with crochet & sewing. I have too much stuff & stuff is not selling because too many people are concerned with high cost of living up here in Indiana. They are trying to pay for living & eating. I'm about ready to donate all my crochet hats & shawls & phone bags. I don't know what to do with it all. I crochet faster than I can sell or gift. Tracy, your work and taste are amazing! I want to share with you that I was an upholsterer for 45 years and worked with the big industrial sewing machine which was a Consew but my Bernina 1130 goes through leather, denim hems, belts and everything else with ease. It even goes through the human thumb and thumbnail with ease, ask me how I know. It’s an older machine and it’s still Bernina’s workhorse. Also, I daily use the ruler cutting blade combo by fiskars. Walmart has been carrying them. I have an online fabric store and cut all day but I also have tendonitis and have had 3 surgeries on my right thumb and wrist and this helps tremendously. I thought these tools might help save your wrist and make life easier. At least I hope so.
