I definitely prefer the Boldr. I’m still looking for the blue Venture. I recently picked up the new dark blue San Martin BB36 homage and the 35mm Escapement Time cream dial King Seiko Homage. I really dig these bang for buck watches. I have no problem with homages. This RZE is almost an homage of the Boldr. I’m sure the Boldr is heavily inspired by something as well. It’s all good. Side note, my favorite watch so far is the Teal SF40.
The Zelos SF40 is a fine watch. I have heard that the owner of RZE was the lead designer at BOLDR. So, I guess that could make the Valour 38 kind of a homage of the Venture. Assuming that it is the same guy who designed both of them.
The NATO strap is not a friend of the Boldr and it's profile, though the titanium bits are cool. The extreme tips of the hands would look good in orange like the second hand. Lovely watch regardless. Wear my black face on black canvas strap with grey stitching. The RZE is nice but not as quirky. The case coating is interesting though. Would like to see in the flesh.
I don't think that you can go wrong with either of these. They both have their pros and cons. I am generally not a fan of NATO straps as the almost always raise the watch too far off my wrist. The only watch that I was really happy with on a NATO strap is the Glycine Combat Sub.
Glycine looks a lovely watch. Similar to my Spinnaker Fleuss perhaps, which suits a NATO, or anything really! The French Marine strap is a good compromise. I love them. The mechanism on my Boldr keeps as good as perfect time too, which aids it's appeal
Why are field watches always made so small? I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and saw the size of watches grow. These days most in the military are using huge G-Shocks. Myself, I prefer a 42-44 mm.
The second strap is supposed to prevent the watch head from floating around on the strap. It is not necessary in my opinion, but I am not doing anything tactical while wearing my watch.
Prefer the boldr. Crown location, and I need a logo. Preferably under the 12. Hate NATO straps. Well, I like them on others, just not my wrist...its the ears that stick out...LOL Cheers!!!
Rze all the way I have the obsidian black field watch it's extremely tough and durable
They wear very well on wrist too.

I have not handled either watch, but both are cool
I totally agree. Both are nice and lightweight.

I would assume foe the weight savings and comfort on wrist. The gshocks are lightweight, so the larger size does not matter as much on those.
RZE is nice, but lume....thanks for the review, these are both very nice really.
I agree. I do like them both, great size and weight for a field watch.
@@WrongTimeWatch I wonder if the lume will be better, I like the design a lot. It looks different somehow.
Both look great definitely can't go wrong with either one
That is a good point
What is the point of a NATO strap? Why the second strap which cause the floating look.
My choice, the Boldr, but I hate the name.

@@WrongTimeWatch 🙏, the most tactical thing I do is sneak up on a beer.
Boldr is so much better especially with the extra 100M of WR
I would have a hard time picking one over the other.
boldr over rze any day!
I like the styling more, but I also like the scratch coating on the RZE.
Boldr all the way :)) .....
That is a solid choice.
few bucks more and and a miyota 9xxx or a Soprod
Miyota 9xxx would be awesome. High beat and, should allow for a thinner watch case.

I totally agree with you. I like the concept of the NATO strap, but in practice, not so much.
