Melissa sure did build a big, pretty new City Hall. Sounds like they should've invested in their fire needs instead. This is so, so wrong. Who do they expect to do it? McKinney? McKinney is also having a population boom and has been for 20+ years, yet they still rolled in to help Melissa during all those years. If McKinney does have to step in to help with the Melissa ETJ and surrounding areas, they need to bill Melissa for their services. McKinney taxpayers shouldn't foot the bill...

It is crazy how fast this county is growing, I remember visiting Melissa, Celina, Prosper, etc years ago and they were all farm towns...

Wouldn’t be an issue if Counties allowed ESDs.
But commissioners dont want to relinquish power

Perhaps Collin County could organize a County Fire Department, and have "Collin County Fire & Rescue" service unincorporated areas, and assist CC city departments when needed and could house advanced specialty units like Hazmat, Urban Search & Rescue, Dive Team.. And could even serve ARFF at airports in CC

So, Melissa had a contract with the county and is now not fulfilling that obligation. Not sure why they complaining when they should have already planned going forward after signing that contract.
(Yeah, I lost my thought midway in. So be gentle)
