Exactly! Both are tall and very thin with long legs. I see girls and women wearing the most dowdy, cheap, falling apart flat shoes, pale legs without nylons sticking out of unfashionable dresses…honestly the worst nightmare. Please no skirts or dresses with flats…please ladies.
Flat, comfortable, and supportive shoes are my go-to. The outfits you presented show just how stylish flat shoes can be. Actually, I think the current platform shoe trend is being taken too far by some and makes an outfit look cheap and inelegant (never mind how dangerous wearing platform shoes can be!). Love these examples. Today I'm wearing a black pant/jacket with hoody and gold trimming along the sleeves with black sneakers and, because today is orange shirt day in Canada, an orange top with gold jewelry.
Your outfit sounds great. I can’t wear orange, but to mark TaR Day I’m wearing an orange leather bracelet and later this evening when I go out, my BC Lions scarf.

I love my leopard ballet slippers. I've worn them for years. The styles you model are beautiful. I do like Ughs...I know. They are ugly but in Toronto they are chic! I remember taking my son to a local arena about 25 years ago to play hockey. In the arena, an Australian fellow was selling Ughs for the first time. I thought they were very ugly but here I am.

I have flats and low wedges mostly sorted out and I'm planning a purchase of red ballet flats. However, I haven't worn sneakers in years but I just ordered a pair in navy and a pair in white... How bold of me ;) . Honestly, I thought sneakers only paired with jeans. Thank you Marie-Anne for showing me the way.
Great video, Marie-Anne!! I, too only wore flat shoes until I started watching your videos. A short or mid heel really is comfortable. Higher heel or chunky heels or boots are comfortable too. I love the Chanel dupes & Balmain dupe jacket. I wasn’t wearing any of my jackets either as I was wearing cardigans but I will be wearing them this fall. Over 50 yr old fashion can be fun too. I have loafers & ballet flats & pointed toe flats that I will wear too. By this age we all have a lot of clothes. Time to start wearing them. If not enough basics it is time to get some. When I go to the doctor all people my age are wearing t-shirts, jeans & tennis shoes. We can still look good & enjoy looking good & be an inspiration to our friends!💕🥂🍕

As a retired preschool teacher I alway wore flats in the classroom. Safety and dressing professional plus comfort. We could wear jeans and a school/ class colored shirt on Fridays or on an field trip.
Great video! All the outfits as you said “are practical and stylish’. The one shoe I don’t care for (never wear) are the really,really flat ballet flats. First their very impractical in the mid-west US’s winters. The other is they provide absolutely no support for your feet. For a past mid-age lady during winter I wear the bootie flats and knee high boots which are never above a 2” heel. Love your lace too soo becoming and feminine 🫶🏻👍🏼
So true about our midwest weather ! It's " form to function " in rain , ice , snow & severe cold ( which is on its way ) . Luckily , sources like Land's End & LL Bean have attractive cold weather boots in updated styles & varied colors w/ coordinating clothing so we outdoor gals won't look like a " mini Paul Bunyan " !🥾 🧥 😊

I almost always wear flats as one on my ankles rolls at random times and "falling off" a flat is nothing, but "rolling off of a heel would hurt, be embarrassing, and be the opposite of elegant.
I've decided I'd like to add some red flats to my wardrobe. I have basic colors (navy, nude, black...) plus some moss green Cole Haan flats. All of those "blend in" to outfits or are the supporting cast. But bright red flats (or shoes) would be the pop of color that draws in the eye. Will you please do a video on using shoes as your color pop/focal point? Doesn't have to be red, I've seen some of your bright pink shoes. Also yellow, orange, bright shades. If you want the attention on your face, then why draw the attention to the feet. Help.
In interior design, I like visual triangles. So a mainly beige and olive room with pops of purple in 3 spots in the room so that the eye moves throughout the room to the 3 purple spots (a pillow, a vase, and let's say a painting.). Would I apply that idea to me and perhaps wear neutrals with red lipstick, red shoes, and a red handbag? Or is that too much?

Great video for flat shoes. Being so so much over 50, flat shoes are my shoes. Even though I'm soooo old (69) I walk a lot and flat shoes are a must. Loved all those outfits, they look really great on you Marie-Anne. I just bought navy blue sneakers and they look really great with same color jeans and white shirt. I think outfits 1 & 5 are my faves but all of them have me thinking! Very nice 👏👏 I absolutely love my loafers & ballet flats as well as a nice black patent lace up and have been rocking them since my 20s 😆. Mum had a great sense of style and she always looked great in hers.
I noticed when I got a little older, I tend to wear more flats. I love my white sneakers, ECCO shoes etc. I can style them accordingly. Yes, I would like to put more inches in my height as I am only 4"11, but I'm ok with my flats. I only wear heels when I have a nice social event or I have an office meeting.

I own a greyish snake-printed pair that always gets compliments, just like my snake-printed blue-emerald moccasins, which I wear with same colour accessories. Très chic, you would approve 😉
Bonjour...ça me fait rire! Love your fashion eye. But I've worn my Birks with socks just like the cover for decades and LOVE it! I have worn sneakers for years with pants and dresses as I walk a lot. Rubber boots also are the height of style. As you can see comfort reigns. However I do wear other shoes when I go to the city or occasions require dressing up. Usually I am a ballet flat and stylish flat shoe wearer. But I wore my soft ballet pink dance shoes under my wedding dress: smiling and dancing all day and evening in comfort. Heels once in a while when I need a ladies that lunch look or even some va va voom! Your channel is lovely! Merci beaucoup.

I enjoy my classic ballet flats. I noticed Melania Trump wearing the exact same pair as one of mine. She also wore the identical white leather Adidas superstar sneakers. My granddaughter has the same pair also. She's a classy young fashionista lady in training.
Oh, I have cozy sherpa-lined short leather boots as well.

Liking the styling suggestions with flat shoes... I primarily wear flat shoes because I have a condition called plantar fascia, tendinitis under the foot bed which is aggravated by high heels. Well supported low heels are okay for short periods though.
Loafers with trousers, saddle shoes, and other flats are fine for formal to casual destinations. For extended walking, rubber soles are best like workout shoes, tennis shoes, boat shoes, court shoes and deck shoes. Sometimes even flat sandals are fine if there isn't too much of a hike expected.
As far as styling, I primarily wear pants or trousers. The wider leg designs with a shirt or blouse look more formal if the fabric is polished. I so rarely wear skirts or dresses. Maybe I would enjoy them for a change of pace, though. I find an embellished ballet flat with a tassle or a buckle looks dressier.
A kitten heel with a pointed toe is something I like with a skirt or with dresses, too. A black and cream two tone combo gives this style a classic touch.

We are going to be heading into summer soon and flat Slingbacks are really big this year. I am loving them and have two pairs. One is in a pinky nude colour with pointy toes, which are so flattering. The other pair are very unusual. They are in very soft white leather that has been perforated to look like lace. I am really loving perforated leather for summer at the moment.
