A solid sized bet on the flop and he either takes it down or most likely gets a call from top pair in this case while folding out Andy. Then he coolers his opponent heads up when he makes two pairs. @tomemeigh5338 2 года назад +1

      What logic are you using, Clayton? The board was CHECKED through. What possible incentive could Andy have had to fold before the river?
      I doubt he would have even folded after the turn had it been bet.
      Don't know if I could have folded a set of 7s either, but the better poker players are indeed looking for reasons to fold - not call.
      In this case: Andy's raise signals either the nuts or a bluff. And with three people in, it's very unlikely that it was a bluff. Ryusuke correctly deduced this, though with Garrett's action still to come it might have been easier for him.
      The premise still holds, though. Not saying that Garrett isn't good, because he is, but a better player WOULD have folded there.

      The only flush hands that Andy definitely COULDN'T have there were A-Q of hearts or A-6 of hearts - and also probably not A-K of hearts, which likely would have raised before this. All other A-x of hearts combinations were in play, though you are correct in saying that some of the lower combinations probably would have bet on the turn, and that he would NOT have raised with a set of jacks on the river.
      The raise signaled either the nuts or a bluff, and with a bet and a call already in, it was highly unlikely that it was a bluff. Ryusuke correctly deduced this. Why didn't Garrett?
      It was NOT a good call.

      @@tomemeigh5338 There are only 9-11 possible flush hands on the river by andy. For garrett to break even on a call, Andy needs to bluff with 4-5 hands. How many combos does Andy have that's bluffing this river after it goes bet/call and he has to raise to get 2 people to fold.

    Stopping the video at 6:12 before I learn what Garrett does here (I'm guessing he calls because he has a freaking flopped middle set), you have to think what would Andy take this line with that 777 can beat? Only a set of sixes or fours can be beat here. Andy has it. The only question is does he have 85 for a straight, does he have a flush, or is it a set of sixes (maybe fours)? So yeah tough fold, and exploitable in a game where we can see your hole cards (later), but yeah against Mr. Solid (Andy) a fold is the long term money maker here. And even if I'm wrong, it's not a very big mistake to fold your 777 here against this particular solid player. OK, now I'm going to watch the last minute...

      Garrett took only 2:17 to decide. If that is diva-level screen time then you and I just have to agree to disagree. His course of action is different depending on whether QJ calls, so he can do some of the analysis while he is waiting for QJ but then he has to finish it after QJ makes his decision.

    • @tomemeigh5338
      @tomemeigh5338 2 года назад

      @@adamwatkins1150 Yeah, Garrett took 2:17 to decide WHEN IT WAS HIS TURN TO ACT. He himself admitted that he really had taken much longer than that because he was thinking about the hand during the time that Ryusuke took to make his decision.
      Even the commentators mentioned that Garrett had really already made up his mind while Ryusuke was still acting.
      Garrett already knew what he was going to do even if Ryusuke had called. He already knew the most likely hand that Andy had, which is what he had.
      Do you honestly think that Garret would have postured the way that he did if he did not know that he was on TV?
