  • Did you see the eventing jump field? 😍😮
    In celebration of the USA eventing team qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, we welcome you to Boyd Martin’s Farm.
    Many thanks to Boyd Martin and Silva Martin for an incredible day spent at Windurra USA in Pennsylvania. This property is unlike any we've featured before.

    Now this is a real barn . One that's not so aesthetically perfect and that's a good thing. So tired of seeing all the perfect pritine barns that are mega barns. This has charm . For horse don't care what a barn looks like as long as they are properly well cared for.

I can’t begin to tell you how much improvement I’ve found with BEMER. It really helps with their recovery and circulation and it’s really made a difference.” Want to know more? Trines Nails well most of the professional riders know enough about their horses well being that they turn them out. horses have to be horses 🤷🏻‍♀️. And I’m sure there is some kind of research that has proven that horses that go out get better results so I’m sure that 99% of the professional riders (not only good ones in that lot that’s for sure) have turn outs. Maybe they’re not even grass fields but at least they get out 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I love how the facilities aren't totally perfectly polished, clean, everything in perfect repair. This is a WORKING barn with amazing arenas, XC, stables, it has it all. Resist the Wellington style barn, Boyd! :-D

    • @inkakomonen7338
      @inkakomonen7338 4 года назад +14

      why resist? You can have a working barn that is also gorgeous. I work as a stable manager and groom and the atmosphere really affects my work ethic. I dont need crazy chandeliers in the barn aisle or anything but clean and crisp environments make me work 10 times harder. A nice aesthetically pleasing environment just makes me happy and a happy worker is a good worker 😊

      So many horses in. Australia are in rural areas and benefit from a combination of stabling and paddocking. Summer heat is very strong so I stable the horses during the day and put them out as soon as the sun is low enough not to bleach their coats. No rugs except if mosquitoes are around. Stabled horses not rugged in summer as horses will paw the floor and bedding to make a mosquito dust deterrent.

    I know he wants to replace the stables, but that old fashioned rustic style of stable is absolutely Gorgeous, I'd rather have something that style that just feels more homely and handmade and has seen the ages than something pristine and fancy, but those are my own tastes!
    I'd give anything to have those stables at 1:00

      I like the look of old wood barns too, but like he said, he's in Pennsylvania and the winters are cold, wet, and under 3 feet of snow, so having an enclosed barn would be helpful. Sometimes if the wood from the old barns are in good condition, they can be re-purposed and rebuilt into a new barn with that rustic look. If it were me, that's what I would try to do, but everyone's got their own tastes.

    I love the older, "rustic" type stables, refurbished or older. Especially in the northern areas like Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, etc. It just fits with the history and landscape. The newer, fancier types just makes everything more expensive and more harder to keep clean, etc. Horses don't really care where they are. But hey, everyone likes what they likes. In today's world, as so many technogical advances have created the ability to pamper the horse to the fullest extent.
    I've been to barns located throughout the most part of the globe and have seen amazing design set in place.
    Some places have stalls that are literally so clean , and a staff that perfects the cleaning 24/7 , that the horses always look at them like , can I poop ? As to get the ok from the staff to dirty up the stall. I've seen places where the horses will let themselves out of their own stall when they have to pee. I swear it's unbelievable. I've also witnessed such mind provoking hard core staff, get so upset when a horse poops , for they have to clean it up. The owners of some of these types of places are extremist as to perfection. You know the the type. Where everything has to be so damn perfect , that one strand of straw left out of place , and all hell breaks loose. The kind of people who the farrier has some continually choice words to say about said owners because they are never ever pleased. The farrier has a hard job anyway with shoeing the horse ,but when you have to work for someone who is impossible to please, it's time to move on.
