That organist was my late husband Nathaniel "Crocket" Wilkie, who was Patti's assistant Musical Director for 22 years. He passed away in May 2007 at the age of 51 of Heart Disease. Also directing the choir was Patti's Musical Director James "Bud" Ellison whom has also passed away in October 2005 at the age of 52 of cancer. People wake up and take care of yourselves.

I remember being six years old and listening to her sing Over the Rainbow - I was hooked from that moment on. Yes, some of her performances are better than others, but there is still no other like Patti LaBelle.
Patti, with all the success she has had, and still has, seems so freakin' humble and down to earth it's amazing. She's a great example of how superstars should act.

It has been Stated that she is the only Vocalist that can out belt an opera singer and have the lowest register doing it. Patti is Fantastic. Some times we have a tendency to forget just how good God is. Patti just reminded us. The woman is gifted, no matter how you look at it. So was Ms. McCarty.
