I was looking for a driveway "rake" to loosen and smooth out the gravel (chipped rock) and this is the only thing I found that was simple and yet was just what I was looking for. I have now built my own, somewhat using your design, but instead of the rake tines that you used, I used sharpened angle iron! Works GREAT! Thank you for sharing your design... you were a great inspiration.
Nice little piece there. I see this went up in June.. Sometime in May i ordered a landscape rake that showed 3 day shipping. Checked on it two weeks later and they said oh yeah how bout we're pushing your ship date back by a month. Hmm. So i called the actual manufacturer and they said actually we dont know if we can get this thing built before September. I cancelled my order but just found out someone else who got the same story and kept their order just got their date pushed back to October. So, 2022? Who knows. I bought a Guide Gear ATV rake instead and did get that in reasonable time. Yours is much nicer! The tine spacing on the Guide Gear is pretty wide, and it has no wheels, AND no angle setting. I did want it particularly because it attaches via 2" square tube (like a car/truck hitch) which for me meant that i could use it with the 3pt lift on my Case garden tractor and actually use the down pressure of the 3pt to 'load' it or push it down. I see that's the one weakness of your rake as shown in this video.. it needs weight added! Before I bought this rake I was using a lawn tractor pull-behind dethatcher for somewhat similar purposes (smaller sticks, though..) and was doing the lift+turn routine to clear it out as well. The dethatcher was made in such a way that 2 full size cinder blocks fit atop it. I figure by now you might have already tried adding weight to your rake as well. Great project! You could sell that thing as a weld-up kit and make money, There are very few decent landscape rakes under $450. Where did you get the tines??
Thanks for the comments! Yeah there is definitely some improvements that can always be made. I would like to make a lift for the back of the wheeler with an electric actuator so i can use the down pressure with that. I have not tried adding weight yet though.
Thank you! Check out the description I’m the video, there is an Amazon link for them. They are not the exact same ones I used but very similar. Unfortunately they are a lot more expensive now too than when I bought them. There’s also a website called Tractor Supply Co where you could order them from.
I asked this question in another video, but this field has a lot of slash. But in later videos the slash appears to be gone. I was wondering if this take cleared it or did you move to different peppery? Thanks!
Yeah I saw your comment on the other video and answered that too. But yes, they are different properties. Right next to one another though. This property was full of popples when it got logged, so the small slash sprouted right up. The other property was jackpines so after it was logged, there were no popples to shoot Jo.
You're pretty handy, that's for sure. Did you find it to be heavy enough or are you going to add a shelf for a concrete block or two? Where did you get the curved rake tines? I missed that part.
I was originally thinking I needed to add a shelf to add some weight, but after using it a few times I found it to be plenty heavy on its own. Curved tines were off Amazon. I added a link in the description.
Nice job! I need something like this to clear leaves from the trails on our hunting property. When you angle the rake, does it still pull straight or does it walk to one side? Also, where did you source the tines?
Thank you! This would work really well for that. When angled, it walks a little bit to the side but not much. I got the tines off Amazon. There is a link to them in the description of the video.

You are welcome! I always like hearing that my videos were able to help someone else out.
@@northwoodsengineered I got a chance to try out my "rake" and it worked like a charm. I really am grateful for your design... what a great idea.
@@rodgerstrickler730 That's great to hear! Happy to hear its working out for you.
We enjoyed your DIY we have similar situations… we’ll use a zero turn for our project… thanks for the information.
You bet, thanks for watching!

Forgot to say, I bought the tines on Amazon.
Nicely done Sir.
Great invention!
Thank you!
Love it great work, I don’t think the pivoting part was worth the extra work, but I don’t know.
Thank you! There are certain use cases where the pivoting part helps, but definitely not a must have
Great work!
Thanks you!
Great video, thank you for making.
Where did you get the spring steel tines?
That's my stumbling block.
Everything else is easy.

Are you willing to share the pivot point template?
Yeah I can send you a pdf. Send a me private message with your email address.
I had to add an email address. Go to the about page, and you should be able to see it

Did i miss the part about the rake tines didi you make them buy them?
Bought them off Amazon. Some farm and fleet stores have them too

Can it be attached to a car even with some amendments
Yeah it could be as long as you have a place to connect it on the car
How much did it cost to build
I don’t have the exact number from when I built it, but I would guess $250
Peeeeerfect
Nice job. It looks a lot better than what is for sale in stores. LOL Where did you get the tines?
Thank you!

Hey what did you use for the tines on the rake and what are they called?
Hi, there is a link to them in the description of the video where I bought them on Amazon. Just called landscape rake tines.
Thank you
Could I order this somewhere?
Hey, sorry but I’m not building and selling these at all.
why is the music so loud man, watching to see project, not to hear music
Sorry man!
