The things you mentioned about footwork, all pro players do these. It's like the basics of badminton. You can't be a professional player if you don't do these. In my opinion, the amazing thing about Momota is that he has such amazing control of the shuttle even while keeping his body so low. His precision does not deteriorate even after getting low.
momota's footwork evolved as compared to rest of the japanese players , they all have similar movement,steps - momota has similar movement to what i think is like that of chinese players , very relaxed,composed,explosive movement and of course fast paced,no/min correction steps obviously lin dan and lee chong wei footwork paved and inspired next generation players and momota i think has the best footwork after these two(chen long also) btw has someone noticed players of a country have sort of similar steps,movement - like you can tell japanese players have a hopping technique,indians have their own style barring few , indonesians apart from ginting have very straightforward movements ,denmark players are usually unorthodox in their movements ,etc, its really intriguing
All the points you have explained here are common to every player. Lee chong wei, lin Dan etc also do the same thing. Explain what is difference between momota 's footwork and others if possible.
At the end of the day everyone has to use the same footwork technique but I told the things that Momota has mastered that make his footwork unique so people can focus on those main things and improve their footwork as well
yes it is,the pro athletes nowaday dont have much diffrent in skillset so the thing that distinguish them mainly are speed,mental and accuracy.The shuttle fly lower mean that its faster and the opponent will have less time to think and execute therefore it will be easier for them to make unforced error
