I have during the last several weeks stopped in the incredible heat, to make remarks to another Kevin, who like me walks to town. Stopping for a word, an acknowledgement. I now have an invitation to his home for a lovely cuppa and some hen eggs. A delight. Sharing stories of our lives that have brought us to needing to walk to town, in the country. Having returned from two decades in another country where people often talk to each other, I realise how wonderful it is to be able to open up. Become neighbours not strangers even in the 35 degree summer oven here in Australia. Yesterday was Kevin's wife's 8th anniversary of her passing. Spending 10 minutes on the road. Listening. Mattered to me also. It is possible to overcome the existential dread. Which infects us particularly in times of great change. There are lovely 'Kevin's' everywhere. Thanks Tara. Decency is one of the most important aspects of human interaction.

Oh wow that is powerful SAESMCI. Kevins are legendary. And what a powerful moment to share. I can only suggest to you - as someone who has lost a spouse - what that 10 minutes meant to Kevin. It would have meant EVERYTHING. Everything. And you stopping, and listening and caring - and then sharing that stopping and listening and caring with us - will change me today. And the days that follow. Thanks mate. Beautiful. txxx

Each time, I admire your bravery in sharing your experiences by facing the facts in case they can help others. Even having such a RUclips channel which is full of support and knowledge is a great demonstration of your approach of "Other people also matter". Thank you, Tara, and thank life for letting you happen to us❤

Ever since I found your channel I haven't missed a video! This one hit hard, though. It made me cry for reasons unknown (or perhaps known but unspoken). Thank you, Tara, for giving us so much value in such a short time every week. Your videos have changed my life 🙏🙏

I was hit by this one too, Anne. We are absolutely with you. I think the sadness comes from the gap that we all have - and live. That gap between what we think we are doing - and what we are actually doing. We all have it. The question is what we do with that consciousness. You are amazing. We walk with you. Always. txxx

Dear Mrs Brabazon. Thank you very much for your clear and concise advises in the videos. I am a silent listener for years now and wanted to thank you for you constant effort in helping people with these videos no matter where they are in the world. I am a Phd student in Germany and keep coming back to your videos for advice i have forgotten. I am hopefully now in the final stretch of writing up. Do you have advice on how to stop " boycotting " yourself. Recently i managed to resolve some issues i thought that kept me from finishing. But now that they are resolved i still find myself struggling to keep motivation up sometimes.

Love this topic, super hard to motivate myself on a PhD when no support from any advisor, program, other than myself. And yes, the world going to crap sometimes really does demotivate a bit too hehe (unrelated note, audio quality is great but a bit too quiet this time?)

@B B, I too noticed the quiet audio. Was wondering if it was something on my end.

Hi BB - you are the best. We are all with you - always. Keep walking. Every paragraph makes a difference :) Promise! And sorry if the sound is a bit quiet. One of our dear friends on the channel said I was a bit loud (!!) :). So I turned it down one number. It seemed to play well on my three tester computers. But I'll turn it back up for BB! And apologies for the loudness ;) txxx

Tara, thanks for making all of us matter. I especially loved the story about your father saying hi to people on the street. I grew up in a rural area/small town and it reminded me of that happening when I was younger. Sad to see that not happen so much now. And the stories about you looking out at the ocean and realizing what matters were so powerful. I always seem to find what matters when I am in nature or in another country learning about someone else's way of life. You will still be making these videos 50 years from now? 😀

hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :) Helloooo I am Tara Brabazon and welcome to the Post 6,756 :). Giggle Giggle. And Sheena - I'm trying to make a point of maintaining eye contact, smiling and saying hello as often as I can. There are so many isolated people. In daily life, we can do something. Biggest hug to you - thank you for being amazing :) txxx
