The pun jokes was some of my favorite parts of the game. This made me happy to see in the show.
*Joel stabs Bryan to death as he screams for his mom* "Oh he maybe knocked him out :)"
Knocked out with a knife. I’ve seen it happen.
That conversation on the stairs is important. When Joel admits that he, Tess and Tommy had been the ones carrying out the ambush he gave her the, we did it to survive excuse. But she doesn't buy that and asks the pertinent question, did you kill innocent people? By innocent she means people like herself and Joel. People who weren't with any side, who were just going about their business, living their lives. His not answering of course meant yes, we ambushed, robbed and murdered people and it wasn't really about survival. it was because we could and did to take what we wanted. This is the real reason Tess said we aren't good people. Part of the "shit" they had done that she wanted Joel to "set right" by taking Ellie to Frank and Bill.
Remember how Ellie reacted when he beat that guy to death in front of her, not at all like Sarah when he killed the neighbor. Sarah was horrified at what he'd done even though he was protecting her. Ellie was into it. She liked that extreme violence, that power being used on her behalf. It's why she's obsessed with having a gun. Not for the protection it gives her but for the power. In her mind it puts her on equal footing, without the need for others to protect her. When she killed that trapped infected you saw both the propensity for violence and revenge but also a cruel streak all of which she and Joel share. That infected is not her first kill that she doesn't want to talk about. Ellie is more like Joel than Sarah his daughter was. His influence on her as a role model will play a big part in what she becomes and the decisions she makes in the second series. This insight into Joel that she is getting from her questions on the stairs is part of her formation for better or worse.
There go my boys. A lot of the Joel and Eli moments came right from the game like the magazine and joke book. Even the bad guys shouting threats during the shoot out. And the older dude with the beard did the voice of Tommy in the game as well
You guys should start watching the after credits behind the scenes. It's really interesting.

Joel slept on his left side so he couldn't hear out of his right ear. That was why he couldn't detect Henry and sam.

@@TuanNguyen-ed9rb possibly an AND not OR. Plus they climbed like thirty something floors. Listen to the last of us Podcast from hbo max (you can search for it on RUclips). The creators did confirm the sleeping on his good ear side. In the woods, we see him laying down on his bad ear side.
