I was watching this video and then I heard a big crash out my window--a car had hit a biker. (The biker is ok) We need more pedestrian-friendly streets!!
I've consumed a decent amount of this sort of content, but it seemed like you covered almost everything in this one video. Can't wait for the part 2 and 3 :)
Such a great video! And I‘d love to see more on mobility-topics. I never heard about the volunteering-and-walkability thing before, bit it makes so much sence. Less density, more community trust, the feeling of meeting people probably all motivate more people to take action. I‘d also recommend the RUclips channel Not just bikes. A lot of stuff about mobility, infrastructure and the need to decenter cars.
I love not just bikes! And yes the community aspect to walkability is super interesting. I think we've designed society to be super isolating so putting people in community will do wonders in fostering empathy.
Hi Maggie! I'm your 15 year old subscriber, and i actually never dreamed of car! Like never! I still don't wish about having car,and that statement intensified after i got into environment topic! I think that public transport is the future, especially trains and metros and bikes,ev's are good, but very controversial, and still lead to overconsumption of scarce resources! Keep going, Maggie, found you very recently, and your videos are awesome! Though i got one question, how to spread awareness about that public transport is much more greater and cooler (reference for climate change too!)than private cars?
I have gone car free. In 2 months ive saved 900, and invested in a new bike. I basically pay myself to get groceries. Ive farmed and sold firewood for years, only to have to compete with big corporate welfare recipients, subsidies, free mortgages, lower bills, free sewage and more. Impossible to compete in a fair economy. Ive built stroads and was never paid proper wages. I recieved 380 and everyone else 1700 after taxes. Im for no cars. Ty
Depends on comparison. You won’t be in a „there is no sidewalk“ situation, but there‘s a range. Walking quite close to cars or walking and cycling squeezed together in little space is common. But you’ll also find decently wide sidewalks (and bike lanes) at other places. And some spaces (mostly inner city, parks or parts of university campuses) prioritize walking and ban cars.
Public transportation for the win! ❤
Public transportation is a slay
Yeah! Walking and public transit work really well together, too.✨

That's so scary. We really need more bike lanes completely separate from where cars drive.
yessss please make a series because I missssss your sustainable city design videos!
I'm working on part two right now!! happy to hear that you're enjoying the videos.

Love public transportation. I went to Italy last summer and now I want to move to Europe
I lived in france for a while so I understand. It's so nice to ride trains and buses everywhere.
Is your city walkable?
Not so! Some places are, some are not, sad, public transport could fix the issue, but car-mania is bad!
Nope sadly 😔
Yes but I live in Europe so I am not the target:)))
Not so much. Some places are . I live in south east asia....we are not only have car mania...we have motor cycle craze!
