It may not actually be as unintentional as you think; the author is able to write such good boxing because he runs a boxing gym and just generally has roots in the boxing world, so he knows what he’s talking about in the vast majority of the story.

I don't remember if it's a quote from the show or just something I heard someone say "start jet engine depsy roll" and now its just something I repeat in my head when I see ippo charging up the dempsy roll
which makes dempsey roll in this anime the best part whenever ippo is in the ring, I remember when I was a kid, whenever ippo is about to finish someone, he always uses dempsey roll, and oh man, how I love the crunch of every punch landing in his opponent.

Btw apart from Jack Dempsey doing the Dempsey roll that one time, we've never seen any other boxer attempt it🤔 you could say mike Tyson but he was just moving side to side transferring weight to his legs to add power to his punches
I don’t think it’s a coincidence. A lot of Ippo’s quirks as a manga and as an anime come from the original artist being both a boxer and a coach himself. Part of what he tries to do is embellish stuff so people who aren’t into boxing can visualize and understand the concepts of boxing. You show a boxing match to a random person, they’ll understand someone being punched, but they won’t understand anything beyond that without experience or guidance. I think the jet turbine sounds are an extension of that. Ippo’s windup takes a few seconds longer, and shows both how it feels to try it yourself as well as what it can feel like to be on the receiving end.
While Ippo and Takamura's Sound Design is akin to a Jet Engine, Prime Kamogawa is just coming in with the clangs of metal and steel, like a hammer hitting a hot rod of iron or sheet metal shearing when you rub something on it
