Congratulations Joel & Lia on your 2022 Blogosphere award! Bought you several "ko-fis" to be exchanged into prosecco. Cheers! I would enjoy it if you spent the night in one of those lodges. Go glamping and try other outdoor experiences like canoeing, kayaking, spelunking, etc.

I toured Warwick Castle back in the late 80s, before it became so commercialized as it appears to be now.
If you drove from London to Warwickshire, you also passed what's left of Sherwood forest (of Robin Hood legend).

Joel and Lia, afternoon tea is right up my alley. I love doing afternoon tea, have done it several times over the years. The first time I had afternoon tea was in 2008 , when I planned and paid for ot for my mom and I as her mother's day present. We had a wonderful time at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. And it wasn't that much cost wise, I chose the $50 per person tea where we got a choice of two teas and the tower of sandwiches 🥪, scones and desserts. It was lovely. Then i have had friends take me out to tea houses for afternoon tea for my birthday ( there's a tea houses called the Chado Tea House in Downtown LA in Little Tokyo that's attached to the Japanese American Museum.) Most hotels like the Ritz Carlton, Peninsula , JW Marriott in downtown LA etc, basically luxury hotels through southern California have some kind of Afternoon tea. And The Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica has an afternoon tea. The Shoppe next door has everything you can find from the UK .

I worked with a woman who made the most delicious scones I ever had. She put cinnamon chips in them (like chocolate chips but cinnamon). When she brought them in they were gone in minutes. They didn't need to have anything on them, they were that good, but of course, we would put a bit of butter on them.

A taste of British 💙. We don't have "tea time" here in the states. We just don't hold any "quaint qualities", hahaha!! I wish we did though. Lia, that green tea cup was gorgeous!! That is my all-time favorite color!! Joel, I too would be drinking coffee, but like Lia, I'm more "savory", even though those sweets looked really tempting, LOL!! 🥂🌳🏰🌳

Afternoon tea is available in more places than you might think in the United States! A few of my favorites are:
      * Lovejoy's Tea Room, San Francisco, CA
Charmingly cozy (think grandma's parlour and mismatched china), with a delicious savory-focused menu and optional petit fours. I'm obsessed with their egg and onion sandwich, and they have lovely scones with real Double Devon cream.
      * Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe and Afternoon Tea, San Diego, CA
Modest outdoor seating area, but the afternoon tea has lots of bell's and whistles, and the adjacent shop is chock-full of imported British foods that can be hard to find in the U.S.
      * Rose Garden Tea Room at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, San Marino, CA
Lovely setting and menu, and a walk of the grounds helps work up an appetite! Scheduled to reopen in spring 2023.
      ❤🫖❤

I would definitely consider these places and have "tea time", US-style while experiencing British foods, hehe 😉☺
