    Thank you for your awesome HONEST review. My Mxxxxxbuilt gravity fed just died after four years and I'm looking for a replacement. It was too difficult getting it lit

    You've definitely put that through the test, Scotty! It looks like it has a few issues, but it doesn't seem to be anything major. Thanks for the honest review!👍

      Right on. 1 issue bothered me is the no handle to move it around. snuffing the fire out to me is not a deal breaker. i own 2 MB560s i never use the slides in them.

    Nice review and some great info for those who have this grill. I don’t cook but once our twice a week and I love the Pit Boss Lexington. Haven’t had a problem with it yet, thanks to some of your tips on it. Keep on grillin’!!!👍😎👍

    That's an excellent idea (pulling the manifold) for searing. I burnt through my Masterbuilt manifold in less than 3 years (from searing and burning off grill grease). I know you said "built like a tank" but honestly, I don't see any heavier gauge metal than the Masterbuilt, especially where needed most around the firebox. My Masterbuilt actually rotted the rear ledge supporting the grill grates after 3.5 years. If you use these for just smoking, they'll probably last quite a while. Just don't "grill" with them.🤷 I was hoping the same people responsible for the beefy-as-hell Bronco would build something a little more sturdy where it counts.

    Sounds like you got similar results to mine. I will check those vent flaps. My biggest issue was temperatures above 300 had thermal runaway, when I set it to 350 it was running closer to 380.

      Not to bad. May take time to level out. My mb 560 will do that

    Nice review Scotty. How does this compare to the Masterbuilt? Looking forward to maybe a few comparison cookers, a battle of the gravity feds.

    Can you use wood chunks too? Chunks provide more smoke than chips. Thanks

      Yes you can! i use chunks and chips. some times saw dust. all works good.

    Have you used wood chunks instead of charcoal in this pit? I really prefer cooking with wood, but cant find a smoker that has the fan and temperature control that arent charcoal or pellet

    • @ScottysBackYardBBQ
      @ScottysBackYardBBQ  4 месяца назад

      I add wood chunks to the coals. U want to cook all wood u need an offset for clean burning.

    Last question! So you’re saying the fire does in fact go out without burning up all your excess fuel if that flapper doesn’t get stuck? Other folks are saying even if the flappers are down the fire doesn’t go out until the charcoal is empty. Which is odd to me. Thanks for any clarification!

    • @ScottysBackYardBBQ
      @ScottysBackYardBBQ  2 месяца назад +1

      I tried many ways fire. Won't go out. But no where in the manual that states it will. So any coal will be burnt up

      @@ScottysBackYardBBQ thanks for the info! Just seems to me they need to reconsider a basic vent so the fire goes out after your finished. To me it’s a waste of fuel and also a hazard depending on where your grilling
