Literally - the finale has ruined the entire series. All those mysteries and they have an awful ending. RIP 😭😭😭

Totally agree. While there is merit in the message about reconciliation, it feels like it belongs in another show. Not to mention that none of it makes sense. I still can't understand why Sutekh gave a crap about Ruby's Mum, who ended up being some random ( who plays a Drug Dealer in " The Responder" SBS... Great Show). I can't help feeling the story was hastily rewritten due to Millie leaving the show. It's also kind of spoiled "Pyramids of Mars" for me 😭

Meh, is like say Series 3 finale ruin the Master and everybody lives again with a deux ex machina.

Honestly. Yes… outside of wild blue yonder, the giggle, 73 yards and D&B every other RTD episode has been so mediocre that it just feels like more of a downgrade than the chibnall era. The fact that all the best episodes of this season have all been written by either Moffat or someone new says to me that the show should be written by someone who isn’t RTD and Russel himself should take the backseat and just “oversee” the production of the show with a loose season ark plan that new writers can tinker with.

I still haven't seen the whole video, but honestly, one of the best parts of watching Series 1 (2024 👀) was discussing it with other fans, whether on your live streams, in discussions, or chatting with friends and wondering about theories. That might also be why the finale feels so sad and underwhelming - I hate that I dislike it, but... 🥺 I still feel blessed I could watch it on its release days. This series has its gems, but the finale... 🙈
Edit: I kind of understand the "it ripped me apart" sort of thing. The Doctor is always excited to live after regeneration, so I think it could have been that, but then he realised how he actually feels about it? 🤔 The "something's missing" feeling.
Edit2: Oh I completely agree about 73 yards. I wish it didn't get mentioned in the finale without being something very important, but it's a great standalone episode, one of the best pieces of media I've ever seen imho 💗

I recently rewatched Torchwood Children of Earth and it’s so good. RTD has completely lost his way. It’s hard to believe the same man wrote Children of Earth and this absolutely garbage.

Think you’re really misremembering that TWD S6 midseason finale and premiere. And not that I often defend the show from that point onwards cos like I just spent a week in ICU and that was less painful than the latter half of TWD. In fact S1 Version 2 of DW is about on par. Dire stuff.

I don't think RTD has lost his touch, if you mean the ability to write well. I think he still has the talent but chooses to use those skills in a direction I and many others find undesirable.
The number of people who do not like the direction RTD is going. Those who liked the first episodes and called people who did not all kinds of vile names were dissapointed by the ending.
To me it was all the same and was unified into RTD'S push. Even the plot holes and contrivances played a role by tactical distraction.

No really, is the same cheesy fun that RTD had. The real problem is that the audience change.
