Also recently turned 50 and got the exact same drone and package as a gift (that I've been wanting for soo long). A lot a lot a LOT of fun and an absolutely fantastic tool to add to the "toolbox" as a photographer (working photographer since over 2 decades) - like a completely new set of eyes by opening up for a lot of new and interesting vantage points. Also feels great to learn something new! Congratulations afterwards and enjoy your flying! Best! /M
Congrats on owning your first drone! Its a wonderful and powerful little thing. Just a small note as I noticed many bald branches in your videos, the obstacle senses does not work so well with thin branches without leaves. Might not want to fly too close. Have fun!
I'm 63 and bought my first drone a DJI Mini SE last April when they were heavily discounted due to being discontinued, totally got the bug and 6 weeks later bought the mini 3 pro, 6 months later I now have the 4! 😂 A little tip for you get an anti glare screen protector for the remote, I use the Startrc Anti-Glare Matte Tempered glass screen protector, although it's already a nice clear image glare from the bright sun can hamper the view at times, it completely cuts out any glare on the screen.
Your gonna have the time of your life with that, and ye they are alive. I started with one got 5 of em now. Be very careful you dont crash it though. Lovely music. Kev.
Thank you for your comment and advice..certainly hope not to crash. Baby steps and more practise in safe spaces before being more adventurous 😁Can't wait though...
Drones are definitely super fun to play around with! As much as I love them, I think I've gotten a few in the past and they've all broken after a while (and every time it was so sad- they're just so fun!). The past few days in Toronto have been mainly a bit rainy; not much snow, which is pretty surprising. Have a wonderful week and take care!
I'm building my confidence up to take out in more open spaces as don't want to lose it or break it. Apparently I have warranty for 2 replacements....hope to not need them! Not much snow....sounds like Doncaster. Thank you for your comment and take care too.
Nice one, you'll have lots of fun with it and I'm sure you've already found how addictive flying it is? You'll soon be checking the weather and on calm days be rushing out to fly it. Just be really careful you don't fly on very windy days like we've been having recently⚠️😲 You risk having a flyaway. Yes it does look like a frog 🐸 such a cute one though! I've added your channel and look forward to watching your droning adventures develope. Hopefully you'll connect with another DJI Mini drone pilot, I still fly the original Mavic Mini but have the Mini 2 also.👍😁
Welcome to the club! Excellent choice of drone. Shame about the weather recently stopping us getting out much. I'm from Doncaster Hatfield Moor in Doncaster I assume?😊
Congratulations on the new drone! I remember my first flight with my first drone.. the Miini 3 Pro. I went to the local park and took the drone up about 50 feet. I found that I couldn’t remove the huge grin off my face 😂 the thrill is amazing. Like you, I now have the Mini 4 Pro - it’s an incredible piece of kit and I’m totally addicted. I hope you went down the “DJI Care Refresh” route. It’s too late now if you didn’t (you have to buy it within 48 hours of activating the drone) but if you did, you won’t regret it. Sadly I’ve had my share of mishaps (with Mini 3 Pro anyway) and the Care Refresh is well worth it. It didn’t look like you had your Operator’s ID on the drone? The drone must be labelled up with it. I know some people will say you can put the label inside the battery compartment, but there isn’t really any space for it inside.. only on the top of the drone. I even keep a spare label with me when I’m out flying, just in case the one on the drone comes off (not that that has ever happened) Best regards & enjoy your new toy 😀 - Steve
Thank you, I was very giddy for the first time...there's so much to do with it just a wee apprehensive about hitting something or losing it in the winds! I'll get there.
Hi Steve. I've got it labelled up now thank you (and have a spare label in my bad too). Love all the tips and advice although should have labelled sooner tbh 🙄 Yes, very giddy in taking it out but initially it was like letting your child go to school on their own for the first time, you want to watch them all the way. Got insurance with replacement of up to 2 drones so not sure if that's the DJI care refresh, I doubt it as didn't do anything after opening my present and getting my operator ID. I'm getting out today to fly so hopefully more footage at some point ☺
Smoothness will come with practice and confidence, don’t worry too much about that now. My one piece of advice re. the practice flight on the moor, you (or your partner) were flying below tree height. In that area I would suggest going up above any trees that way there’s nothing for you to crash into. DJI’s obstacle avoidance is good, but not foolproof and bare branches/twigs can be missed by it and clipping one can be bad news for the drone. Happy Flying though. You’ll love it ❤
People definitely love you. Warmth and Fun, great combination! /EDIT BTW, M4P now supports Goggles 2, so you can fly 1st person, expensive, but IMHO worth every penny. I've ALWAYS wanted to Fly, now I can!
Thank you. Drone is like a brand new hobby I can couple with making videos and leaving behind a legacy of videos for my grand daughter to watch when she's older 😁 I'm the creative nanny......
Congrats on your new drone! When I was first flyer I made (still make many-many) mistakes about flying... first of all was hard to learn the fly WITHOUT eye contact between me and the drone. As I see, you made this too. Keep your eye on the screen, otherwise, you will lose your mind 😅 or you break the drone. I saw my first impressions on your video too: How you fly "far" and farther from your door, and then you flew past the roof of your house and the chimneys, but you stopped in the road... (that was too cute😋) nobody understands the joy you feel when you fly if you are not interested in this subject and technology. So keep your interest, the smile when you fly, concentrate, and...... for god's sake! 🤣DON'T FLY IN TREES TIED AT HEAD HEIGHT AND NEXT TO CHIMNEYS! Fly higher up where the drone is safe to move away from wires, chimneys, and tree branches, you will break the drone quickly!
lol....yes you are correct. Very apprehensive. I've had a few more sessions and just whacked up to height and I did focus more on the screen this time (mostly). And thank you 😊
I was so super slow and careful on my very first flight, but as soon as I saw it launch up to shoulder height and hovered rock steady there without any inputs from me all my initial fears turned to love😄 Just a small word of caution……when the honeymoon’s over, it time to accept that this wonder gadget do have its limitations and branches and overhanging twigs will be your bane
So far so good, I'm still a bit over protective watching my drone to ensure it doesn't end up in water or lost in trees etc (although could track with my RC). I struggled last week when I ran the battery low and slight winds wanted to take it off course so ended up in a small tree in the garden. Fortunately no damage and lesson learned. Hope you're still enjoying yours too 😁
Awsome video more practice u do more u get better exciting times but just be carful it's a lot of money I've hit the sub on your channel coukd I get a hit too

Great video and now you will be hooked on drones! Enjoy and thanks for sharing
Thank you kindly. every morning since Christmas Day I've thought "where can I go to get my drone out" 🤣🤣Weather just pants at the moment though.
awesome video it is an addictive hobby and expensive 😆
Thank you very much for your comment.....never flown anything before (apart from a paper aeroplane 😂) so definitely an experience.
Congrats and enjoy your new drone 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 And has a Brilliant New Year.
Thank you, New Year greetings to you too 😊

I'm very happy excited for you. I just bought mine a month ago and absolutely love it!!! Isn't the camera amazing!! Have fun and happy holidays
Thank you very much and yes, camera being 4k super amazing! New Year greetings to all drone pilots 😁
Not bad for a first time flight. You will get better and more confident. Congrats on your Mini 4 Pro and enjoy it.
I have one and I love it.
I will indeed and hopefully when the weather improves better footage with greater clarity 😁
I am 70 and purchased my mini 4 pro in November and love the Camera 4K resolution 👍
The quality is pretty awesome, better than my phone. Need to upgrade with better cameras for my videos...better get saving! 😆
Congratulations on the new drone!

Thank you and yes. Choice was not mine though I can't take credit for that but pleased with it 😁
@@lifeafter50withmanx well the choice was the best mini drone you can buy right now!👍
You need the operator id to be displayed on the drone
You will have great fun with the Mini 4 Pro it’s wicked .
Happy Flying 😊
Thank you for the reminder and yes, definitely having fun 😁

Welcome to the drone community 😀
Thank you most kindly 😊
Got mine last week too, but when will the rain stop?
It's not been great. Managed to get out a few times now in between showers ! Hope you have too.

Happy New Year.
My other comment wouldn’t load with this in in.
New Year greetings to you too 😊
Make sure to insure it! Either through DJI or Coverdrone. Well worth it, considering its £500+ flying around in the air!
Thank you Harry...double checked and yes it's insured. Think that's been my apprehension as such an expensive piece of kit!
A girl geek! YES! Enjoy!
tee hee....certainly will @BartonHans 😁

You should calibrate your drone with a can under it . that will throw your calibration off. you may lose your drone flying .😢
Thank you for your comment, I've not calibrated yet only played with it from what you've seen in the video....bit jerky but something to improve on 🙂
👍 enjoy it ! you will love it .
Are you sure your partner didnt get you a drone in hopes that you might not play with it so he will have to? 😅
well.....the thought crossed my mind 😉

That's most kind of you (yes I have subscribed...love the Byland Abbey, lots of vids to watch). 😀
Bitte weicher fliegen ohne großes Ruckeln
I will definitely try to be a smoother pilot 🙃
