Early Friday morning pre-Labor Day weekend railfanning

This was the beginning of a prolific day of train movements along the BNSF Chicago Subdivision. As the morning Metra rush hour was winding down, the westbound Amtrak Carl Sandburg 381 that runs to Quincy, IL came through. An idling eastbound BNSF guaranteed service intermodal “Q” train from the Pacific Northwest resumes its trip to the BNSF Cicero yard.
