I will DEFINITELY check him out. I listen to a lot of old school jazz…Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, King Oliver. When I heard Will’s piece it was an immediate throw back the the early 1900s. His sound is unbelievable.
Let me say this … talent is One thing. Being God gifted is totally different. That man made his trombone sing from his soul. That is the best trombone soloist I’ve ever heard in my life. He is truly gifted and amazing. Talk about using your gift to its full potential. He is the perfect example finding ,using , and sharing your gifts wisely ! I am proud like I know him !
I also have strong faith in God’s gifts, and this man has one, but we must also recognize the skill he has shown in this video. I’m also a musician and I know the dedication it takes to turn any sort of talent into something THAT good. This is the perfect storm of God’s miracles and a man with a mission!
I was so surprised, and almost disappointed that this was from two years ago and it’s the first time that I’m seeing it, but actually, that doesn’t matter because the anointing coming off of this man’s MINISTERING with his instrument is still fresh. Almost makes you want to cry it’s so beautiful.🙌🏾
The funniest part is that... The rest of the band had no clue what was about to happen 😂😂 they was just sitting there like "man damn I'm ready to go to the crib and get... HOLD ON THIS NIGGA ON THIS TROMBONE IS BLOWING THAT THANG WTF!!" 👀👀👀😂😂
My own school's trombone section is preparing this fanfare and I'm on the solo part. I think I can play with a sound that sounds 45% like Wil, but deep down I know I'll never get up to his level no matter how much I try. And yeah the triple Db's, C's, and Eb's are really hard to get a good sound on, especially being a tuba player who just so happens to be able to reach that high on bone lol
This video should be shown to every HBCU Band Trombone section! I Love my Sonic Boom, but this Young Man would make the J5 Drum Majors stop and stare! Thank you for showing this video. He is Truly Magnificent.
That boy was coming straight for the necks of the competition with that one. The other guys had way more trombones too. They had to bring it if you ask me, and he brought it.
Glad to see this solo literally brings tears to other peoples eyes😂 it’s like he’s pouring all that emotion straight into your soul. This man has got IT
Dude is dope af.. alot of breath control and strength. What I thought was most dope is the amount of momentum he build to the point his section amplified.
I promise no incoming rookies from miles will ever be able to play any version of this battle. Dudes older brother Hank Bilal did this very same thing to Bowie the clip has been banned ever since. I was the rookie that played the clip lol. Same school same fanfare.
W😲W! EASILY THE VERY BEST I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE! AND I PUT THAT ON MY MOMMA! I am JUKEBOX FOR LIFE! But I honestly believe that SU Trombones would stop playing and start listening to this section. GodDamn! I have NEVER heard anything that sound as good as that. OMG, That T-Bone Section CAN'T BE FUCKED WITH! BUT THAT BOI THAT BOI THAT MUTHA FUCKN BOI PLAYING LEAD, MAN HAD THAT BITCH SINGING! EVERYBODY BOW-DOWN TO THAT KING! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I'VE EVER HEARD! How the hell did he graduate high school? If I was his high school Band Director, I would've failed his ass a couple times just to keep him in my band! Yep he's that good! Man I really can't find enough words to describe how great this section sound.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love how the rest of the band slowly realizes they just won the battle and by the end they're all losing their minds and pointing the other band to the exit. 😂
I don't know anything about anything about anything about trombones or band music but I listened to this and within moments it had me so hyped up that I got emotional. God bless that man and the gift that he possesses. I hope that he is able to make a living doing that for the rest of his life if that's what he wants to do.
I concur! If I was Band Director I would've made the whole Band stand up! If I were Section Leader, I would've made all the Trombones stand up on that one; they definitely owe that Respect, at least!
I don't give a damn what school you go for my guy killed this all the way through how do you play back at them after hearing that great job whoever he is you and the rest of the trombones were on point
I ran across the video you're reacting to a few days ago, i've watched it like 5-7 times so far, not much of a musician or even a big music fan but i freaking love this trombone section piece.
He rlly did it’s crazy cause I marched with him when I was in elementary until he graduated cause I came out of Fairfield central in 2021 and went to NSU to March on the drumline there
I'm a writer and a musician, going through some things testing my faith when I re-watched this clip. This young brother's playing was spiritual. It took the original composition to a place that was not imagined. Thank you for sharing !!!
He's a UHOP player. You want to really do a reaction video? React to "The Bailey Master Brass Band Logan Circle Tribute 2019" video. All lower brass band. You WON'T be disappointed.
Lol you know if I come back to the UHOP I'm going back to CDMB you know we would punish your drumline again I was over the CDMB 2 years and we spanked y'all big time plus brass band is a NY classic in purple lol

Everybody needs to know, he is really a beast. I play trombone he’s probably one of the only trombone players in his band who can hit those notes, I know I can’t. But I’m eager to hurt myself trying.
His older brother Hank Bilal taught him how to play..if you look at older Benedict college videos Hank Bilal is a monster
Word
Does he go to the UHOP most guys that play like that usually do?
I need to see this man
@@c.miller3222 Yes, the one he's originally was in Winnsboro Sc. He attended Fairfield Central High school which is also in Winnsboro.

Crazy how they decided to have a football game at this trombone battle.
This! Lol
OMG. I love it!!! They should thank him!!!!
The disrespect of it all. A football game during a jazz festival.
💯

Idk why but this solo always brings me to tears. Simply beautiful.

Same. Like literal tears.
I could listen to that all day
Me too! Every time! I'm so glad I'm in good company!
I thought I was weird or something. Same here.

Imagine the band director having a whole other song for them and the trombone section said we going rouge. We playing this shit lol

That’s immaculately controlled blasting. Anyone who plays brass knows how crazy that is. His chops must have the stuff they put in wolverine’s claws.

Ive said this before and ill say it again, this is the single greatest trombone arrangement of all time.
Now that's the way a trombone should sing. What an anointed trombonist.
Every time I hear that brother playing, it brings tears to my eyes
I know ol’ Al Jarreau would be crying and rewriting his whole song “Black & Blues.” Good God! Nice reaction bro. Keep it up.
Thanks brother
This man was definitely an inspiration, a lot of the finesse I got was from hearing him 😭😭 took that shii straight to the AMB bone section
After his first solo the other trombones start playing 10x better
