Ronnie Howard is the best part of this movie. Fabulous!
Saw this movie for the first time today. It made me cry several times. And Ron Howard was so good in this.
miraclay Where did you see this movie. Yes, it is a good movie. Also check these movies out on UTUBE... CAUSE FOR ALARM. THE RED HOUSE. NO DOWN PAYMENT.
@@jadaparks8047 How true
I love this movie..watched many times. And I think Tom was a loving father trying to survive losing his wife and raising a very witty, keen, honest little boy. Ronny Howard was priceless. I think he said all the right things…so what if he said I’ll clobber you…it’s a phrase…never carried out…Tom was a gentle man….remember this movie was made 1963…parents weren’t terrified into saying the wrong thing. How could anyone believe…recent viewer…that he’d actually clobber his little boy?? Just enjoy this movie as a struggle that many people sadly have to face. Again….this was almost 60 years ago. Ease up criticisms!!! I love this film. Some men and women conflicts…relationship wise.. still is!
Wow! Never knew the series was based on this! Eddie was Ron Howard from Happy Days
Best movie ever!!!! Glenn Ford was a fabulous actor. Soooo handsome.
Ronnie is a superb human being and one of the finest child actors there ever was. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not in this role, wooden and too old. He acted more like a preoccupied executive than a father.

I never knew the TV show was based on a movie. Looks like it had a very different theme.
I Grew up with the Bill Bixby version and Had No Idea that just 4 years before my Birth in the Summer of Love that this was a Concept and Movie . I grew Up knowing if all these Actors . I Like How this is Yet More Unseen footage of Ron the Camera Ham Man . Seems Ron Grew Up On Film :) QC
excellent movie. will have you tearing up and then happy again.
Awesome film.
So little Ron doesn't like the view of women from behind huh...... poor young man
Art Gilmore, announcer.
This is nothing without Miyoshi Umeki. Absolutely nothing.
👍❤😘
Much better and down to earth than the ABC sitcom! Bill Bixby never held a candle to Glenn Ford. :) :)
The TV show was special to me growing up, and I've never seen the movie, but this trailer looks awful to me. Ron Howard looks really good as Eddie, but the adults all look so one-dimensional and dated to the period. Eddie freaks out with memories of his dead mom and Glenn Ford leaves to get a drink. (That was in another clip on YT.) That just doesn't fit my idea of who Tom is supposed to be.
I adored Glenn Ford.
Ford was like a piece of wood. Not believable in this role as young father

Fine movie, but this is a rare case where the TV show trumps the original!
Watched it yesterday and thought Ron Howard was super adorable! Personally, I thought Eddie's father (Tom) could be a very mean parent. He'd scold Eddie a lot or threaten to badly hurt him. (There's a part where Tom told Eddie "I'll clobber you.")
If you watch carefully, you'll see Rance Howard and Clint Howard do a cameo in the movie!
Remember when Prince Harry was a good kid? ;-)
