The investment in slow motion high resolution cameras makes you one of the greatest independent storm videographers I've ever seen. And then you just ice the cake with your incredible narrations and musical talent, I feel you deserve more credit than what you get! Like the fine details I notice such as the guitar strum as the lightning hits. I wish I had the equipment to catch lightning. I have the ability to record 1080p at 240fps on my LG V20 but I can't get the fstop low enough to get good captures at night.
My husband would absolutely love this video. He aspired to be either a professional bass fisherman or a storm spotter. He was outside watching every storm possible. Unfortunately he passed away enjoying both of his favorite things nature provided. He was struck by lightning while fishing on August 28, 2018. If you google Ryen Browning, you will be taken to the news articles about his death.
When I was 7 years old there was a horrible storm near Chicago. I remember looking out our large picture window with my Dad. He pointed out a bright blue-ish ball of light drifting chaotically at about 100 feet off the ground about 30 yards away. I don't remember any sound other than the rain. The ball hung in the air for a good 10 seconds and then bolted for the sugar maple in our yard. There was an amazing clap of thunder and the tree lit up and seemed to catch fire. The tree did not burn but the next day we found a large branch splintered and burnt and a burn line on the tree trunk where the lightening found a path to ground. It took me about 20 years to figure out it was ball lightening!
These are jaw dropping and mesmerizing. I have really come to love your videos. Not only is your narrative voice amazing, your cinematography is beautiful, and your music is perfect for this.
Everyone of your videos is like a good clickbait that doesn't disappoint 👍 I've never seen lightning in such beautiful detail! Also, I've never seen those bright blue lights at the ends of a growing bolt of lightning and it was incredible to see in slow motion, you clearly are a genius my friend! Thank you very much! :)
Most lightning videos i see are repetitive and dull but your commentary and personality really highlight the different lightning strikes and their beauty. I'll be sure to Subscribe
I have been subbed to this channel for a couple years and have never been dissapointed. Hank you truly are a fantastic storm chaser and have enjoyed every single one of your videos. I really hope more and more people can discover your channel and get to experience what is some of the best storm footage I've ever seen.
Hank, your video production value is excellent. I, for one, recognize that it takes a lot more than just storm chasing to nurse a completed video to fruition, and you do it well.
Gorgeous footage as always hank, whenever I see an upload from you it really makes my day! Have been on a binge of your videos this past week triggered by the rough weather the UK is having. Nothing on this level of course, it’s like Christmas come early for a storm loving Brit though 😂
Beautiful footage.. I'm a big fan of your videos Pecos Hank. So easy to listen to. You don't shout and scream like some madman, like some do in their videos. Even when you nearly got swallowed up by a tornado awhile back, there you were, Pecos Hank, cool and calm. Love the the music too See you on the next one.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼⚡️
Oh my... It's FANTASTIC!!! My dad told me once that when he was kid he witnessed a very close lightning strike. Said it was a huge flash of light with the sound of ripping cloth. A very loud one. And later I myself realized what was that. Thank you for showing this, Hank! Outstanding video!
I don't know what I enjoy more: the fotages you take or your voice while narrating. Keep doing both tho! Grettings from Argentina! Tornado season already started here, we got 3 weak ones just 2 days ago♡
Your lightning videos are awesome, Hank. Because of them, I got my first lightning video in February this year. I only photographed positive and negative CG's back then. I still look forward to photographing more lightning
Friggen love your vids Hank!!! Best on RUclips by a Longshot. I love the sky lightning that just claws it's way across the sky. Absolutely stunning and something so beautiful that it's hard to believe it's just mother nature
Trying to learn how to animate lightning and electricity right now, and the slow motion captures you've gotten are the perfect reference!! The ability to see the movement frame-by-frame is so helpful. Thank you for sharing all the amazing things you've seen :)
I have a slight fear of lightning. I have metal in my body due to injuries in my past so it makes me feel like a walking antenna when I'm in a lighting storm. But with your awesome videos, I can take in their beauty behind the comfort of my phone. I am soooo glad I found your channel! You're going to be the most famous storm chaser one day! Keep them videos comin' and I'll keep tuning in. Stay safe brother Hank!
Moving from Palo Alto, ca. to San Antonio, Texas was my first experience with storms. When my husband and I were court'n, we used to drive out into the country and watch lightning. It was so exciting, and kind of scary! We have been through tornados, fires, earthquakes, riots (L.A.!) and all kinds of freaky experiences, but I still love sitting on our back porch all night, watching lightning together. You have the absolute best film I've ever seen! You need to be on IMAX!!
Completely spectacular, One question some of the anvil crawlers in the video like at 2:27 first move very slowly and then followed by sudden flashes...so are you slowing down the video during that time or is it at the original speed?
This might seem silly, but thank you for posting this video today. I live in Moore, Oklahoma and hadn't heard there was a chance for severe storms yet. We are emptying out our closet today so we can have somewhere to go. The closet gets filled through out the summer months when it isn't our shelter. Thank you, I love your videos!!
So how is life hank? Your youtube channel is huge now 152k subs Back in the day when i subbed you had around 10k subs You are doing such a amazing job thank u so much!!!!
One again, Mr. Hank, a superb compilation! That number one was really incredible, I've never seen that either but now I want to. Only problem being that I don't have a camera that will shoot at 2,000 fps!
Greetings from Tulsa😁 glad to know you'll be out there catching the storm on film. I hope you get some interesting ( but non deadly) stuff. Those amble crawlers sure are pretty when I'm not out in them. lightning scares me when I'm outside.
Absolutely stunning, I’ve never seen anything even remotely close to this
The best part of living in the States is that even our storms are completely different animals depending on where you live.
Put a radiometer on a mountain and watch what happens. ♥️

Hank's Videos are great. The best lightning strikes would only obviously be taken by Hank.
@PecosHank, what can I say? The best just keeps getting better! Now how about some ball lightening?
Still waiting for it...
If anyone is going to capture ball lightning on camera someday, it's Pecos Hank.
Jim B The needle in the haystack.. One time in 40 years of watching.. Just once! And that was over the State of Georgia.

Saw some skipping down a road in Biloxi when I was a teen. It skipped across a lawn and into a house.
