Dusan, everytime I need a little inspiration, your build video's, and tutorials, especially this 2 part on the Academy F-35 Lightning II always leaves me happy and ready to work hard to be a better builder/painter and now adding those little extra modifications that I learned from you. Your my modeling "Master" if you will. I find myself looking to you more than all others to become better at this hobby I love so much! Thanks once again for sharing your skills and techniques.
WOW! You paint those panels free hand. One without masking or the after market mask which makes life easier. Even with the after market mask it’s not easy. Well done
While you were coloring, it looked so green that I was wondering, but the color looked appropriate in the finished video. It's been a while since I bought this kit, but I couldn't make it because of the coloring, and this video helped me a lot. Thank you.
I just watched this build again, overtime I need inspiration David, I simply watch your work as you build. I can only hope to develop skills like yours one day.
Incredible build as always and your free hand paint work is amazing! I've seen you use that fine detail brush before, who makes that, model number if you don't mind sharing? Love your work!!!!
+Luftangreifer Yes, but you forgot one layer of clear varnish before decals. Corection: Surfacer - Main paint - Clear coating - Decals - Clear coating - Washing - Weathering - Semigloss final coat
+Les Laxson i do something similar. i just think aircraft look more realistic with a semigloss finish. most aircraft if you see them in bright light have a shine to them. down to your own oppinion tho
Hi martin, I've been meaning to ask you for a while this question: how do you get your paint to flow so nicely off your brush without the brush drying up and the paint getting tacky? Do you thin it? I'm using Mr Hobby acrylic paints and find they dry very fast on the brush and flow for about 2 dips in the paint before they hard to use. What do you use and why does your brush seem to stay wet far longer than mine? Thanks mate! Terriffic job yet again 👍☺
The Star Trek 1/350 Refit Enterprise is a great kit from Round 2. Lots of opportunity to really show your excellent skills and lighting if you choose. Also, very good photo etch for all the Round 2 Star Trek kits. Even the 1/1000 Reliant kit. All from Round 2 and available online. If there is a problem buying from Czech Republic, perhaps one of us could buy it and ship it to you with the receipt and you could pay back when you receive?
Hi! first of all, what a great work done! I liked it. I also have question to you. How did you deal with the unfitness of cockpit and glass? I really wondering
haha looking careful with the decals XD otherwise rip with academy decals. Damn it's pretty looking sexy. Keep up the good work. Will be back in next video's comment :D Cheers! Also, is that the brush you recommended me? the tamiya brush. The free hand paint with it is brilliant! But most people just mask it and airbrush them. But definately wroth hand brushing too!
***** with your free hand brush painting skills being what they are, you make it look easy. I know from experience that it takes very much focus to accomplish a look as seemingly perfect as you were able to demonstrate. You are an inspiration my friend!
Has anyone tested ZAP Canopy Glue? It's made specifically for canopies and becomes transparent once dry. You can also apply it on dashboard instruments so it will look like glass.
Hi , I'm confuse with your painting , 0.Surfacer - laquers 1.Main paint is Tamiya XF , which is acrylic based color 2.Panel line and enamel line , which is enamel based 3. Gunze Super clear III + gunze leveling thinner ?? How could you paint it over water-based/enamel based color ? In video , I saw you've use Gunze thinner leveling (yellow label) , aren't you ? last time I check , gunze leveling thinner is lacquer-based clear coat , please correct if I'm wrong. Thank you.
+Yazoo Pugna Hi, this is good question. Acrylic paint are not exactly water based. Acrylic paints are water-soluble, but become water-resistant when dry because they are containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymer emulsion. They are very resilient too. For this reason, you can combine acrylic paints and enamel wash. If you use enamel color and enamel wash, some of enamel thinner in wash can damage painted surface. Thinners. Actually I am using for all colors original thinner. For tamiya x-20a and for gunze mr. color leveling thinner. All acrylic paints are not same for this reason I prefer original thinner. Lacquer-based? I Am not sure what that means, but leveling thinner stinks horribly.
Your brilliant at what you do. Like really good. But I thought I was colourblind for a while. It's as if you made it a first off the line test f35 with the dark green primer colour.
That clear coat plasmo that looks great. Still got problems with it I have humbrol tamiya vallejo but still dont get it right. Keep up the good work Plasmo 👍👍
so good, do NOT reccommend italeri, they added some weird extra canope structure even though its not there on the actual aircraft so now im looking into sanding it off
How to clean the ink? I mean... You cover all the model with black ink... And then you clean it whith paper... It looks imposible mission... Can the ink be cleaned out when its dry??? Also I would like to know how do you clean the model before adding the water stickers without scratching them...
Kasey Anderson nothing other than the plastic, decals, and instructions is included, he used: mr.cement, tamiya extra thin cement, decal soft/set, gunze paints, tamiya masking tape, revell contacta glue, tamiya paintbrushes, airbrush, xacto knife, and tamiya putty.

New US Marine Corps 1/48 F-4 Phantom II by Academy is a wonderful 'intermediate' kit - plenty of details and quite complex build process but no serious fit issues and it builds to a beauty (did one for my own channel a while back if you're interested in seeing whether it's for you). :-)
@@idaemonplasmo I wonder why all the light stripes and shapes ???? Looks like F-35 has come from paint shop and nobody removed the masking tape !! Is it a function of stealth coating ? no one can tell me . I did paint a 1:48 scale F-22 with shapes and panels in light colour by hand -but not fun .
Im building the"Kitty Hawk" 1/48 scale F-35 A model same as this. I don't think I have the confidence in the freehand brush you do on the light colored sections. not realistic... you should have had a 15 year delay in building time and went over budget by 350%...
:-D Unfortunately it is very sad
i salute you Sir, you are a master craftsman , keep up the good work.

Ayy lmao

LOL, Wow....with all the mail you get, you still remember one of the first questions I asked you. You, are my friend, and that makes me happy.
: D
One of the best models ive ever seen, great job!

Thanks for this video with subtext. I was wondering if you clear coated. My questions were thoroughly answered here! Turned out great
No words. this is amazing
um.... it's the A model, right? Where's the lift fan? There would be a really big hatch right there. 13:04. I don't understand....?

Hi Martin, Its nice and realistic model, good job and good luck !
sexy plane, very nice build!!
Incredible. Just incredible. :D
Awesome build I have been watching the 2 part build a lot
The F-35 is my favourite fighter aircraft! Hopefully I can get one soon.
Hello, great build as always.

The Master of Models!
Very nice build again!! Thanks for sharing
This is wonderful, once again, pleased to watch your videos, cheers!
Awesome freehand work.
Outstanding. I'm just building the same model. Wish I had at least 20% of your skills... Congrats.
Excellent work! Beautiful build buddy!
What colors and equipment did you use to make it look so good?
Woooow
It’s awesome 👏 👏👏👏 congratulations !!
Awesome build, looks excellent.
Great build, what gloss varnish you using please ?
What is the name of the fine paint brush? Keep it up love your vids
Great work!!! Did you use a spray can for the clear varnish or an airbrush?
Hi! first of all, what a great work done! I liked it. I also have question to you. How did you deal with the unfitness of cockpit and glass? I really wondering
Is it hard to buy Bandai from Amazon in Czech Republic? I just purchased the Star Wars AT-ST walker off Amazon. Beautiful kit
your hand painting skill is amazing !
***** What size of nozzle where you using for primer and gloss varnish?
When you buy a kit do you think of your own design for colouring or you find one from the Internet or you just add something to the one you found?
Looking for a sci fi kit? how about the Star Trek Enterprise Re Fit? Would love to see what you do with that!
Can you build the 1/18 scale hobby boss harrier please it's an good kit that not many people know about

but i want to ask you , what brush do u used ?
Awesome built!!!! Well done. Love it.
Beautiful work,
how many hours did it take to finish this model?
What paintbrushes did you use for the light gray markings and detail painting ?
I guess paint needs to be watered down quite a bit if it's acrylic based paint?
Another masterpiece. Martin, have you considered the idea of making a video of assembly of a Su-27SM or T-50 of Zvezda?
+Flanker0804 Thank you very much. Actually I ordered yesterday Su-27 from Zvezda but now I have other 5 models in queue.
Oh, good. I've got this model as well, it's waiting for it's turn. You will deffinitely like it. Looking forward to see your work on it.
Awesome build,great job.......
David, have you ever used future pledge as gloss coat? how is it compared to super gloss varnish?
What kind of gloss clear did you use on this? The base for working with decals looked flawless
Hi I'm just wondering what paint you used for hand painting the zig-zagged lines on the fuselage.
What's the name of the music at 5.57, it's look like 28 days later
Just wondering, why did you use eletrical tape as well as masking tape when spraying the wings?
When you finish with one colour with the airbrush, how do you clean it?
man I would love to see a video build of an F-86.
If you saw his video of his collection (or at the end of this video), there is an F-86 but he didn't do a video about it.
what about a 1/24 fighter
why did you spray the Mr. Surfacer 1000 down? Is that a fine putty filler?
Is there any reason why all the people puts chalk washes coats before decals? Im scared that decals can be damaged.
How do you get such straight lines! Any tips? When ever i use paint with a brush, i see brush lines galore
Looks amazing great work dude
Awesome job again Martin! Hat's off :-)
what is the thing with the bottle that have light blue cap that you use on the canopy?
It is glue - mr cement s
+PLASMO - plastic models so it is okay to glue canopy with cement as many people say using cement for canopy isn't good as the canopy may looks foggy
Yes, it could happen, if you use super glue but classic plastic glue is ok.
PLASMO - plastic models
I used Mr Cement S on the canopy of my MIG-29 ad it caused fogging. How did you glue the canopy on without any fogging?
Has anyone tested ZAP Canopy Glue? It's made specifically for canopies and becomes transparent once dry. You can also apply it on dashboard instruments so it will look like glass.

완벽하네요... 저거 도색을 떠나서 조립자체가 어렵던데... 대단합니다.
Was everything you used to make this included in the kit? If not, can you please reply a list of what wasn't?

Very nice ,👍👌.
Would Johnson's Klear work as well as the gunze super gloss?
excellent video
Q: What size and brand is the brush you are using for painting and detailing the F-35 body and Instrument panels?
TY
Does it possible to make wash with the x20a thinner from tamiya?
And very beautiful plane. :)
***** OK. Thank you very much!
What brand of paint brush are you using? I want one.
They're Tamiya brushes.
Are those wing pylons accurate? I thought they were omitted in favor of the enclosed bays for stealth purposes, were they later introduced?
Kind of, for non stealth missions.
Výsledek je krásný :) Co takhle zkusit více moderny v podobě F-22, Su-50 nebo něčeho podobného? :)
