Just my opinion... huge fan of Simon but I think he needs to work on his mental game the most. He has literally all the throws but if something goes slightly wrong hes a goner. I feel like he plays with a ton of pressure. Just want to see him win a big one this year.
I’m not sure this year is his year in various ways. I don’t think he’s had the time to dedicate towards practice due to lots of things going on in his personal life. I’m hoping for a big win in the future too

He bought a house and got engaged etc. But searching for a house, getting the finansing and then moving to your first own house during the tour season takes a lot of time and energy away from practising etc. and your focus is somewhere else... But that's life. There is also the elbow injury, that is affecting his game and causing some frustration, because he's not been able to throw forehand shots for a while, only backhand. And I agree with you. There is a huge difference between when Simon is playing just for fun and when he is playing competitively. He seems to be very hard on himself if he doesn't perform as well as he thinks he should, and lately he seems to get stuck in negative thinking when he gets bad tree kicks or misses puts etc. (-> negative thoughts generate negative effects). I felt so bad for him when he was kicking himself on the first round at the GMC ("You suck, dude! What the heck?" etc.). I really hope Simon can soon realise, that he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, we all know he's got the skills (and anyone can have bad luck or an off day), and by playing without pressure or expectations (or creating negative narrative in your mind: "This always happens to me"...), he will be more relaxed and the success will come naturally when he is not trying to force it and when he is actually enjoying what he does. But I'm sure he will, and I hope it will happen sooner than later. I really do. We all get our own lessons in life that we have to figure out, but that is how we slowly grow wiser.
I’m always surprised by how they don’t throw before starting. Not just like to be better but to make sure they don’t get injured! I see so many pros who play rounds without any stretching and I think it’s smart almost always!

After each person throws, the Wolf can choose to team up with that person for a team (playing best throw) against the other 2 and try to get the lowest score. The Wolf has to choose after each player's drive; if the next person throws they can't choose the previous person. OR the Wolf can wait til everybody tees off and then play as the "Lone Wolf" with all 4 players playing individually and Lone Wolf tries to beat the other 3. If the Wolf and Partner win: 2 points each; Non-Wolf partners win: 3 points each; if Lone Wolf wins: 4 points alone; and if any individual beats Lone Wolf all non-Wolf players get 1 point. Highest points wins. (With Money...) points are just like skins. if you're playing $1 a point 8 points owes 10 points $2; and 4 points owes 10 points $6. IMO "Blind Wolf" added rule is even better: if Wolf calls "Blind Wolf" before the other players tee off, they play 1 vs 3 and can win 6 points instead of 4. I would also suggest that whichever player is in last place get to be Wolf for holes 17 and/or 18 as a catch-up mechanism. (Edited for variations.)
You can play with as little as five people. You all pick numbers at rando to start the round. If you are number one out of five that means you throw first a hole number one. And again on hole 5 you would throw first. And so on. With a five group wolfteam whoever throws first gets to pick one person to be their partner on that hole. They also have to choose their partner before the next player tees off. So if you don't pick the second third or fourth drive you're stuck with the fifth person as your partner. And you can't go back on choosing partners. Once your pic is made you have to stick with it even if someone throws a better drive. Then you and your partner that you picked are playing Best Shot doubles against three other players playing Best Shot triples for the skin or point. Larger groups work very well also. For example if you have 7 people playing you would typically get to choose not just one but two people to be your partner against the other four all playing Best Shot. The only time that you can be the wolf is if you are throwing first. If you're throwing first and you think that you can beat all the other players you can call Wolf after your drive. If you do that then you get to keep all the points yourself. So basically if you throw first and you're parked under the basket it's a good time to call Wolf. And another rules sometimes we will make it to where you can call Wolf before your drive if you're being extra cocky. If you call Wolf before your drive and beat all the other players combined effort then you get double the points
Gotta make money somehow. I don't doubt it's obnoxious, but GKp are still pretty new to the game and need the capital. Especially considering the quality of product they're giving us. Like I said, I'm sure it is annoying. Just, consider their position. They paid camera men and editors. They put up at least a portion of the prize money. They may have even payed the golfers a bit just for being there. This is by no means a "cheap" product.
