I’ve never once heard of you. It came up in my recommended because it’s Skyrim gameplay but I’m glad I seen it. You really have worded what you were saying in such a way that I am trying to rethink my priorities and how to get there. I, for some reason, have never heard it like this. Thank you.

Very motivational, provided a well needed reminder to get me back on the horse.
Thanks for making this video, its easy to forget how susceptible we can make ourselves to the will of others.

it sucks because its so instilled in you by your parents and teachers that your time belongs to other people. if you dont go with it you get belittled by others. it becomes an almost subconscious impulse to accept as soon as you are asked, and you feel dreadful at the idea at saying no. i have almost completely withdrawn myself socially because of how much control this has over me. i was in a relationship for over a year with a girl i wasnt attracted too because i didnt want to hurt her feelings and convinced myself that i should be grateful that a girl asked me out in the first place. whenever i wasnt to say no i feel actual fear because of how i was raised, whenever i didnt do as i was told i would get screamed at by my stepdad like a drill sergeant for an hour and get grounded for weeks. and i feel like its not going to get better for a long time

I found this video by chance, I almost didn't click on it, but something told me to click on it and just, wow.
For most, if not all my life; I've been a people pleaser, I have always found it hard to say no or do stuff on my own due to how I want to include people on the fun stuff I want to do. This video has helped me understand that I don't need to feel bad when I say no to things I don't want to do or if I do stuff without people. I had to deal with a situation a month or two back, basically I had found a brand new server for a game me and my group of friends play- and I really wanted to play it. The problem is, as much as my friends made it out that they wanted to do it with me, they never got on. So, I had to make the decision to play without them because the server was only going to be open for 2 more weeks because it was the last playtest for the server before it launched 5 months after. I thought it was selfish and a few of them got upset. However, this video has made me realize that I wasn't at fault, because if I hadn't got on because of them- I would've missed out on meeting new friends and having fun. Thank you Hunter- I'll, for sure, check out your other videos.
Edit: Unrelated, but your discord link has been broken for awhile!

Corny but I think of a line from one of the karate kid movies, something along the lines of "I believe what these monks do but I'm not a pacifist because I don't live in a monastery." In the real world complete selflessness is very difficult if not impossible to maintain, which is why societies usually have a failsafe so that people can truly live like that who need to. Like monks, nuns, priests, etc., with vows of celibacy and seclusion. I think there may need to be a secular version as societies becomes more secular, because I think it's a genuine need society has.

This is profound. This is so true. Society today tends to shame people who want to seclude themselves from others, when it is just the way they want to live.

I don't know why I got reccommended that vid, cuz I never had any problem with assertiveness, but it's astonishing how people struggle with a stupid "no!".
