Electric Heater Life Hack for the European Winter of 2022.
We bought this electric heater, an AirKing from Bol here in The Netherlands. This winter in Europe may be brutal. One thing is for sure, gas prices are up like triple and electricity prices 4x higher! So we will all need to watch our gas use and electricity. Natural gas is how this house and many in The Netherlands and Europe are heated.
We invested in solar panels. We have had these on our roof for about 2 years now. They work great. So on a sunny day this winter, we can run this electric heater with fan to help warm the living room. As heat rises, that will help keep the entire house warmer. And with the sun shining the cost of running this heater should be zero, or at least lower. Yes, the sun is less strong and more angled down in the winter, but we face south with our solar panels, so that helps.
The unit we bought online was an AirKing Elektrische kachel model number AKEK01BK. Link below. Three weeks after I bought it, sold out! We’ll see if this works. Have to save electricity and gas costs this year, any way possible! www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/airking-e...
