Is it me or is the chorus the most beautiful sexiest thing ever recorded? I love how the key is just so random and it hits hard, and pauls voice sounds so authentic, like hes our lover. Far out love it. WIshed they repeated it one more time
They surfaced at the right time in early '64. At that time, America and the world was just coming to grips with the gunning down of president Kennedy which left everyone in a gloomy slump. Everybody needed something to pick them up and make them feel a little better at least and the Beatles just had that fresh new sound and upbeat music that made every one "shake it baby" and let it all hang out. They were funny with the press and had a perky presence about them. In the saddest of times they made a difference. Don't you think? 🇨🇦🇱🇷🎸
Yes. And it was important that the British lads took up covers of classic American melodies from musicals like "Music Man" (Till There Was You, eg.) to play our own songs back to us so that we might find our footing again. Didn't last long but it was important that the British Musical Invasion did this for the English-Speaking Peoples of the World.
truth. It meant alot to me however my band and many others in the 70s, never touched it. Also great were Anna and Happy Just to Dance with You. Bands were only interested in I Saw Her Standing there, I wanna Hold your Hand and I Feel Fine.
Love the shot of Lennon just looking out at the crowd screaming like crazy. He's amazed and stunned, but still managed to keep playing that rhythm guitar. Ringo always said that he kept proper timing on drums by watching how John's body would move during songs, since the screaming was so loud.
@@markopetersallinen4783 Actually John's rhythm guitar is very noticeable in this song -- he plays those strums at the beginning of each verse. His rhythm triplets are also very prominent in "All My Loving", and in "I Feel Fine", it's John playing the main riff -- George basically mimics him in that song and then takes the solo in the middle. John also plays the solo in "You Can't Do That" -- so you shouldn't discount John's guitar playing when talking about the early Beatles records.
They hadn't created a PA loud enough to drown out 10,000+ screaming girls, so they stopped touring. It's a shame we could have had more of their live performances and different spontaneous interpretations of their classics to listen to today.
@@joshdaboss2365 That has absolutely zero to do with my point. Do I need to dumb my comment down a little for you? Okay: ONE thing the Beatles couldn't do that those bands could was PLAY LIVE after 1966.

This is where the modern world started for this Indianapolis audience in the USA in 1964. The Beatles, rock music and the largely female teenage girls at the gig. As a social science source it's ten times more valuable than the Kinsey Report into human sex of 1948.
Reminds of my Cavern lunch time sessions at the Cavern as a kid, when they only did cover versions of American Artists, when the Cunard Yanks would bring records back from their sailing back to Liverpool from New York. John always swearing in between songs and going mad if another group had already done the song before them. Now they are the most covered band ever.

This song was so far ahead of its time, never heard guitar strumming like that.
Pixies and Nirvana took note of it....
Great Song. It starts in the key of A minor and then shifts to A major during the bridge.
They bend my head with some of the chord progressions. "This Boy" is another that makes me go "how do they do that?"

groovybabyrachy12 , it isn't just you.
Absolutely. Needs a double chorus at the end, it's just too good.
It changes from A Minor TO A Major. That's the uplift heard along with the drums & guitars playing louder & more aggressively during that part.
To me that exact point captures the sound of Beatlemania. Just that little change and how visceral it is, is just so perfect
Yes❤…..✨✨✨✨
This is a wonderful live performance by the Beatles given the extreme screaming and the fact they couldn`t hear themselves play.
Michael Jackson's concerts were picnic events in comparison!!
I am blown away they played this song live. Just genius!!

One of the Beatles best yet most underrated songs. The Buddy Holly influence is clear just listen to Well All Right
The most screamed song from the start to end!
Holy moly. No wonder they stopped touring. Imagine listening to that every night.
Sounds like Hollywood bowl rendition. Can you hear me ! Ges !
The Beatles in their successful quest for fame and fortune seem to have opened some sort of Pandora’s box.
One of their best, and written as far back as 1964. Paul must've started the true Beatles' songs with it.

The Stones, Kinks, and Who were able to keep playing to live audiences and developed great stage shows while the Beatles sat on the sidelines.

One of Paul's early B side songs, the B side I Want Hold Your Hand.🎸❤️
B side of “A hard Days Night”. “This Boy” is “I Want To Hold Your Hand”’s B-side.
I was about three months old.
You say you will love me
If I have to go.
You'll be thinking of me
Somehow I will know.
Someday when I'm lonely,
Wishing you weren't so far away,
Then I will remember
Things we said today.
You say you'll be mine, girl,
Till the end of time,
These days such a kind, girl,
Seems so hard to find.
Some day when we're dreaming,
Deep in love, not a lot to say,
Then we will remember Things we said today.
Me, I'm just the lucky kind,
Love to hear you say that love is love.
And though we may be blind,
Love is here to stay and that's enough.
To make you mine, girl,
Be the only one.
Love me all the time, girl,
We'll go on and on.
