Jets fan here. Zach Wilson is talented on a level rarely seen. The Jets put him behind the worst offensive line in the NFL and terrible offensive coordinators. I’m really rooting for him to excel with the Broncos. The Broncos are now my 2nd favorite team. Go Zach!

Both Will Levis and Sam Howell had worst Olines and still finished with better QBR then Zach.

Jets fan here. The Jets, didn't have a good offensive line the last 3 seasons, and weren't strong at receiver. Some people also thought his prosessing was slow. If he had stayed in New York he would have done better this coming season. I think he may end up the Broncos starting quarterback in September.
Also a jets fan no I disagree I hated the pick from jump but gave him a very fair chance like I officially gave up on him last. We didn't help him coaching wise the oline was terrible a shaky wrs that's all true but he has happy feet he has no clue how to slow the game down he's very immature again has shown promise it's not a bad trade for Denver but it's not stopping them from draft a QB high

@austinberry9405 what does a qb need to operate? Protection, receivers and coaching. You admit he had none of it, and then say why he was horrible. If you seriously thought you'd take a rookie qb with terrible coaching, 1 ok receiver and no line and do anything is insane.
Some of Zach's advanced statistics don't match the prevailing narrative. Last season, Zach was the only QB in the NFL who was pressured on more than 30% of his drop backs. Yet, he was 15th in the league (about league average) in lowest bad throw percentage (15th lowest). Further, he was 11th in the NFL in highest on-target percentage. 4th in highest drop percentage. It was an epically bad offensive line. In his second to last game of last season, against Houston, he was named AFC offensive player of the week in a blowout win. The next game against Miami (his last with the Jets), which he left with a concussion, he had 11 pass attempts (15 drop backs), was sacked 4 times, and was pressured on an astounding 78% of his drop backs (hence the concussion).
A common complaint about him was being skittish in the pocket, and rushing through his reads. Of course, when you're pressured at a rate higher than any other QB in the NFL, and the coaching may be suspect, maybe that's a little understandable.
Despite a top 5 defense, there were only 4 games last year where Zach was pressured less than his opposing QB: KC, Philly, NYG and the Raiders. He beat and out-peformed Mahomes & Tyrod Taylor, outperformed and almost beat Hurts, and had a bad game against the Raiders. With a top defense, with a competent offensive line, you wouldn't expect to be outpressured versus the opposition in all but 4 games.
Again, his last full game where he wasn't running for his life, he was AFC offensive player of the week.
Jets management went along with the narrative about Zach sucking, but the fact is, that was a historically bad offensive line performance, coupled with poor playcalling (don't get me started on how many drives, especially early in games, went run-run-pass-punt).
I think they'll give Zach a chance to compete for the starting job, and I think he'll open some eyes. As much as the Jets want people to believe Zach sucks historically, when you dive into the numbers, that's not necessarily what you'll find.
The Jets are not going to look good if Zach thrives under Payton.
Part of me does wonder just how much Greg Knapp's death affected Zach.
Wow, we have a Denver commentator who did his homework rather then assume that he is a bust because his interceptions to touchdowns are about the same along with his low passing percentage rate.

Watching Jets last year he played night and day better than previous 2 seasons. He made a lot of great plays that were called back due to an ungodly amount of penalites that put jets into alot of 3rd and 20+ so his stats really should be better. He looked like one of the top 3 players on offense and in a lot of games he looked like he was carrying the team. I had doubt on Wilson regardless of situation first 2 seasons but his growth last season is understated and i would absolutely not doubt he starts in denver

Sean Payton will be a huge opportunity. Zack in New York was like giving a 16 year old a Ferrari and expecting it to work out. His natural ability is unquestionable, if they can get his mind right, they will win some games.

As a long time Jets fan, many of your points are valid. Most people agree that Zach Wilson has all the physical traits needed to become an excellent QB. Where he is lacking is in the mental skills. Can Sean Payton teach those to Zach? We will soon learn. However, it is clear that the Jets coaching staff either could not or simply did not.
Toward the end of the 2022 season, Mike LaFleur, the Jets then OC, admitted that Zach should not have started as a rookie. Jets fans were left with the impression that there was pressure not to bring in a veteran QB to compete for the starting job and to start Zach. I suspect the pressure came from the owner, possibly from the GM. With top quality coaching, can Zach improve? We will soon learn.

PFF has Wilson as a replacement level qb, and Russel Wilson as a quality starter. If Zach has a bump as much as WIlson had under Sean last year, he will be a backup level quality qb. He would have to double that improvement just to get into the range of Wilson, who they cut to eat 85 million in dead cap. The Broncos are quite mad! Good luck with the new Chargers themed uniforms.

Jets fan here, the front office did him no favors with an awful oline and hardly any playmakers outside of Wilson and Breece Hall(who was injured) he improved greatly this past season despite the stats, when hes on hes top 5 but when hes off hes the worst qb in the league, hope he succeeds

Wilson has as much chance as Bo Nix to succeed in the NFL in the right situation. Nix has been in the same offense 4 of the 5 years he's been in college, & the one year he was not, he struggled & got benched. Payton is not going to bet on a rookie. That's why he signed Brees instead of drafting a QB in the 1st round in 2006. If this kid can absorb things & process the mental side of it, he could be a steal. The idea that taking a rookie to start is ridiculous, nobody the Broncos have any kind of reasonable path to get in the 2024 draft is anywhere near being ready.

Terrible mistake by Denver!! Wilson doesnt have the processing ability neccessary in the NFL. He has proven that already. This was very stupid, because Denver could have drafted 2 qb's or draft one and pick up an udfa. Now they have room for only one. In the NFL, you have to show greatness.
