    Not going to accept garbage orders. My time is valuable. My car is valuable. These platforms shouldn't even allow low-ball tip/zero tip orders...shouldn't even allow that order to go through at all. But greed is a powerful thing and they let them go through and hope newbies will pick them up.

    This company is killing me. Why don't they just charge the customers more for longer orders? Back in the day pizza stores would have a mileage limit for deliveries, if you lived outside the limit, no delivery. Doordash should tell people that if they're more than 5 miles away, then they need to pay a surcharge. This is a no-brainer. Orders like $10 for 15 miles shouldn't even be legal.

    • @ItzDenz
      @ItzDenz Год назад +7

      Well DoorDash does charge more for longer distance to customers. But that amount doesn’t go to us dashers. And because of that customers when they see the last thing which is to tip they have already paid so much in fees to where they think DoorDash is giving us dashers the money for it.

    DoorDash will try any and everything before they would ever think of raising base pay 😂😂 all these tiers and programs when having an approximate $4-$5 base pay would eliminate so many issues for them. It’s not like they don’t make a killing in all the fees that the driver gets no part of. I think a higher base pay would solve most issues for them. • @ericduncan2191
    @ericduncan2191 Год назад +5

    Door Dash makes changes that helps them, not you. I've pretty much given up on DD. Between the app glitches and them basically forcing you to have 70% or higher accept rate in order to get good orders. 90% of the orders they send me are not really profitable from a drivers perspective. Sure 6$ to go 5 miles is ok, until you have to drive 5 miles back to town to get your next order.... Door Dash has been riding the ignorant drivers to take the trash. Wouldn't have any trash offers if door dash charged 1$ per mile from location as delivery fee and it goes to the dasher. They could remove the fee if the order total was over certain amount and decent tip was left. But seriously if you live 10 miles out and order a single fast food combo and tip $2 even if its 20% ain't no one going to bring your food to you for 4.50 if you have to drive 10 miles there and likely 10 miles back. I remember when base pay was 7$ lol, Won't be long until enough DD drivers have had enough and either leave the platform or organize a drivers strike.

  • @JohnMikaelian
    @JohnMikaelian Год назад +4

    Incorrect - the schedule you referred to that drops at 3 PM is the early access scheduling so if you're in a market where you can't dash unless you schedule 6 days out, you're screwed if you don't have at least a 50% acceptance rate. DD knows this and they're weeding out the cherry pickers for drivers with employee mindset. So if you don't want to maintain a 50% acceptance rate and in an over saturated market where you need to schedule six days out, you won't be able to work.

    • @PhoenixDeliveries
      @PhoenixDeliveries  Год назад +1

    I’ve been top dasher for the past year. I can tell you that the pay and mileage is significantly different compared to not being top dasher. With top dasher I average about 25-30 dollars per hr. Not to mention I’m in an area that doesn’t really have high paying tips. I still average 25-30 dollars per hr. Instead of being focused on the dollar amount pay attention to the miles. I accept 4 and 5 dollar orders but only if the miles are significantly low. 5 dollar order the maximum miles I’m traveling is 2.5 miles. Keep the miles low and money high and you will see a difference! 😊

    My guess is that they did this in response to people accepting every order for 3-4 days before the end of the month to get Top Dasher (for the next month), and then cherrypicking most of the next month. This new program works on a "rolling" 30-day schedule. They obviously knew that people were abusing the system, and it was only a matter of time before they corrected it.

    • @PhoenixDeliveries

    • @muerkier
      @muerkier Год назад

      Except cherry picking died on March 1, 2023 when they rolled out the Punishment Program ... oh wait I mean Incentive Program. They said that you needed to be 50% AR or better to get access to higher paying orders and I can tell you from experience it is 70% AR not 50 as if you are below 70% AR right now, you are taking long naps in a parking lot somewhere waiting to get orders. DD won't send you squat. This is why they intentionally flooded each market with drivers prior to release of the program because it is the only way it works having plenty of drivers in the area to route orders to. So the plan of cherry picking until the last few days of the month won't work anyways. No need to fix what you can't do.

My issue now is that now that I finally got reinstated on Doordash it just seems impossible to get any orders down even though I'm at gold level right now. This is unskilled labor, the supply is Infinity. They will never run out of new drivers applying. It is in their best interest to have high turnover rate. Once drivers understand the game & start playing for their own best interests, their utility to the company begins to drop. Everyone who needed to get rich off these apps is rich, the founders, the VC's, the friend of a friend. They are under no obligation to keep these vast money losing machines going. They all lose money & have never turned a profit. There is no "when things get better", each batch of new drivers works for less than the one before, have you noticed that? The bottom is somewhere around 70-80 cents a mile, & they will get there. If they should cease & desist who cares, they all got super rich, not their problem to solve.

    This program is also rolling in early access scheduling to AR, which has never been included in the past. If youbdon't have the AR you will either have to wake up at midnight and maybe get leftovers or just rely on zones going red.

Gold you can go out whenever it’s busy or when they have promos going on. Depending on busy it is and which tier you’re in. In Platinum you can clear $30-$40 an hour doing this. If it’s not busy still $15-$25 an hour. Gold you might have to schedule in advance for the slower times or, like say, dash now when it’s busy.

    I am in a good market but only dash during peak times lunch/dinner sometimes breakfast if map shows busy.
    Secret to keeping High AR is to never dash when map is grey , especially during non peak hours as you will then have priority to crap orders. When this happens I switch to UE and others apps and wait until DD shows busy again.
    I am in LOP, pizza program and priority. I can make $200 most nights during dinner shifts, because I get 4 to 5 LOP orders during this time and all the others are priority or pizza orders that pay well. I rarely if ever get fast food orders during peak times.

    So EVERY MARKET is DIFFERENT... It's tough for a creator talks about their own market, because that's what they are are doing.
    I do love how people boast about 6% Acceptance Rating. Totally understand you have to make money, and don't take trash.
    But these delivery companies have ZERO reason to reward people who decline everything. They want orders moved, period.
    What could happen is that they will start only sending junk $2.00 orders to the low AR drivers. That will force the hand of the driver to then do one of three things:
    #1 Quit the app all together (They won't miss you by the way if you do lol)
    #2 Go hourly ( this would keep you busy, but you will be taking all those left over $2 non tippers)
    #3 Raise you Acceptance Rating (to get past 50% or whatever, so you can get yourself some sort of priority to seeing better paying orders)
    But this is just my two cents, from my experiences of different markets and over 1,500 deliveries completed.

I have all of the stats needed except the 100 orders in the last 30 days and I'm in one of the markets where this is being rolled out. The app glitches constantly. Either it freezes on order acceptances or on the GPS or on the final drop-off and sometimes I'll have the order in my car and if I haven't screenshotted the delivery address to put into Waze (at which point I have to pray the app will unfreeze and come back to life after restarting my phone or force quitting the app) then I'm S.O.L. Customer service has been a nightmare--not VIP at all. And I often can only schedule an hour at a time per day ahead, which is bullshit since then I am only guaranteed to dash one hour a day, so how am I supposed to get the 100 orders? Doordash has basically told me it's not their fault or problem.

    I have 1,811 trips with 4.99 customer rating 100% completion and acceptance rate. In my market it’s $16.25 hourly and I always take that. When I wait at McDonald’s with the Cherry pickers they get mad because DoorDash always gives me orders before them. I have no problem with this program and I hope it comes to Pittsburgh
