I had annoying preteens. Who wouldn't stfu. I'm guessing someone complained about them because half way through a worker walked up to them said something then they seemed to shut up.
My theater experience was lowkey miserable. A whimpering baby and an annoying child, and two old women with constant obvious commentary that was honestly kinda adorable.

The “sound” from the hearing aid wasn’t sound at all. No one else heard it except Reagan and the monsters. It was feedback.
"This makes no sense" I thought to myself during the entire video. Feedback simply doesn't work this way. For one, feedback from audio signals is electrical in nature. Such a thing cannot be conveyed over a medium other than proper wiring. I think what you're talking about is the output sound which is synthesized directly from audio signals and the feedback from them creates a distorted sound that is at a frequency which damages the monster's hearing. What I find likely is that Regan has a super high frequency range which makes her unable to hear anything normally produced in nature. This same frequency hurts Regan because she isn't used to it as well as the monster who is too sensitive to it. It would also explain why no one else hears it as the frequency is too high to be heard by anyone else.
The monster has ultra sensitive sense so it can here 100000000000000000000 than a human and the teeeeeeeet feedback was too much for the like if a human with ultra sensitive sense hear that their brain will go "Bloooop" soooo I does make sense horror movies are really a good help for future survival like what if the aliens really invade us but there is on movie that doesn't tell us how to kill the monster and it's really hard to just think about it it's called bird box go check it out hmmm.... Is there a movie that if you smell the monster will kill you that would be really funny I am hoping to see it tell meh if you now about it thanks and bye💖

Another advantage of their daughter being deaf is that before the aliens came, the family already knew sign language. Which allowed them to communicate completely without making noise. Greatly increasing their chances of survival.

It probably would be hard for them, that's why they have a kind of hard skin to protect them. Also they probably can differ from different sounds. I mean birds do a lot of noise and them would go running places looking for birds 😂

I thought it was convenient that the creatures could hear through concrete from miles away yet apparently could not hear a heartbeat through a human's chest. Great movie though....

Lee wasn't attacked because he dropped the axe, the axe made a small sound, Lee screamed so that he could save his kids. Also, Reagan didnt give her little brother the toy knowing it still made noise, she removed the batteries inside and the boy took the batteries back when she was not aware. Just some details that would have been very helpful in the video.

I don't understand why people thought this movie wasn't scary. The tension built by the silence gave me more goosebumps than any sort of cheap jump scare. Idk I feel like those who didnt enjoy the movie might have been thrown off by the absence of dialogue and thus couldn't get into the movie

I was kinda pissed that the dad died because it could’ve easily been prevented. he could’ve just thrown the axe at the silo so the clang would get the creatures attention, it would’ve ran away from the truck and he and the kids could’ve escaped.

There were a bunch of frat boys making noise in the theater I went. So freaking annoying.
One of my favorite things about this movie is I didn’t even know any of the characters’ names during the whole movie. I’m sure they reveal them somewhere, but I never caught them and something like that didn’t even matter to the story, I got so connected to the characters without even needing to know what their names were.

I was sad, but I was I also was kinda mad at the daughter because at this point she knew that her hearing aid was hurting them and she turned it off. I know it was hurting her too, but she had to know that this was the only way she could save her dads life.
It was dumb he killed himself. If these creatures attack sound why not throw something that makes noise in the distance and distract the creatures? Too many scenes pissed me off in this movie.
I agree that it could have been executed better. But him sacrificing himself brought closure to the story arc between him and his daughter not believing he loved her anymore. So it served story purpose. Not sure if he had an object to throw at that moment. He cant exactly run and grab something without making a sound. Besides throwing a stick would only provided short distraction. I think his reasoning for sacrificing himself lends to the creatures spending more time doing whatever it is they do when the kill you. Which I imagine they eat you?... but they never really made that clear. Either way they payed no attention the rolling truck once they had Dad in their grasp.

They give away the weakness in the beginning of the movie. The paper that says "IT'S SOUND!" which explains how the creatures attack but it is also their weakness. That said I find it hard to believe that the government and military didn't figure that out. I mean once you figure out that the creatures have super hearing you'd think the first thing you'd do it try and exploit that. I mean did no one see Tremors in this universe?
In most post apocalypse movies you just have to ignore how the military never figures out "insert weakness here". Like zombie movies. Slow moving, no self-preservation, no intelligence, yet somehow wiped out the army driving around in their tanks.

Lots of rapid repeating gunshots should actually hurt them if their hearing is so intense that they hear a scream from miles away.

Also, he should have mentioned ,that when she was in the field with her brother was the first time the frequency scared the creature. Also also, her father let out a scream not dropped the ax that got the monsters attention. I was like, what version of the movie did he see.
well the axe did get the monsters attention because it stoped attacking but his yell is what got the monster to attack him

no, he dropped the ax and it created a small, relatively quiet thud that barely even causes the monster to pause, and then he screams. the ax was not even close to being the cause to the change in target.
The ending wasn't "explained", this was just a summary with a few impressions thrown in here and there.
I know the title is a bit clickbaity but if you go watch his others vids you will see that he does the same thing again but actually for some including me is very useful information cuz when you watch a movie you don't focus on story most likely on the visuals and what he does is goes in-depth of story and gives some theories as well which makes you think twice and make it look like a mystery to solve on your own

I hope they don't make a sequel, at least not with the same characters. One way or another, this family's story is over. Either they killed the other two creatures and lived, or they didn't and died. I think this movie only worked as well as it did because it was short and vague, centered only on this tiny nucleus of people trying to get by. Maybe it would be interesting to see short stories of other survivors, like they did in I Am Legend, but not a sequel.

They did sound proof the basement (the children are seen laying the walls with material) but the baby needed an extra barrier to be able to cry and coo freely. Take into account that they might find themselves entering and exiting right as the baby squealed or something.

I find it really hard to believe that these things would create a post apocalyptic scenario. Just from a military standpoint, weaponry is incredibly loud and makes loads of unique noises. This weakness would be found much earlier. It makes sense that they'd become local predators (like bears or mountain lions) in some areas of the world, but they're far from world enders.
Aside from that, how do they take out aircraft? Like a chopper with a 30mm chain gun or rocket pods? Or just a door gunner on a black hawk? Air superiority would easily counter this kind of threat. If they have a weakspot that a shotgun can kill them with, then anything else that is more powerful can more easily do the job. Even if its not normally exposed, any organic creature cannot reasonably withstand modern kinetic weapons without injury.
Speaking of meteors, why didn't the meteors just destroy the earth anyway? without the creatures. That'd be more than enough to engage a nuclear winter scenario. Also the meteors themselves could have absorbed the impact, not the creatures themselves. If a shotgun in the right spot can kill one, then most other conventional weapons would do the trick too.
Also, helos and other military vehicles aren't deployed like that. They arrive from many miles off site and only take about 1 minute maximum to take off. Also seeing how at the beginning of the movie it takes the monster about 20 or so seconds to cross the forest to reach the child. The distance shown is not very long, no more than 75 meters, which means they really aren't THAT fast. Faster than humans, but thats not saying much.
Now thats neglecting the noise cancelation weakness. You can easily mask the noise of vehicles or other equipment with louder sounds.
But easily the biggest weakness of these creatures is the fact that they are blind. Very easy to exploit that sort of weakness, regardless of how well it can hear. It'd be incredibly easy to trick the creatures into traps or lure them away from populated areas or into containment zones. Its the classic video game trope of the monster that cannot see but can hear. Simply throw something or set off a noise somewhere else to keep them off your back.
I do like this movie, but the premise of the scenario is full of holes. There really is no reason why this creature would end the world, regardless of its speed or strength or numbers. It can't fly, and its completely blind. Those 2 weaknesses alone make it fairly trivial as a global threat.

That's 3 months to take over the world. That's not "slowly" and cannot be done stealthily. You can also gather that they werent stealthy from the newspapers reporting on their attacks. The premise of this apocalypse makes no sense.

A few things that I interpreted differently. I saw the red lights as a sign that her water broke and she on her way to giving birth and the fireworks weren't initially designed to just lure the monsters away (because that would just bring a ton of them to the farm), but to cover the sound of her screaming during the birth.

Do you know how loud is it to build a house? In the movie, they were literally beside the waterfall. It makes more sense to be a little further away from the waterfall. So when they are building it away, the hammering and etc would be louder.

This movie has one big plothole that destroys whole point of the movie. My father worked at Military base for 15 years. He always told me how every military base has high frequency sonar radars (you all probably seen these big machines with spinning plates on them). They emit very high frequency waves that allow them to detect enemy planes on big distance. Now imagine those aliens approaching military base. Their brains would get fried so fast - there would be no bullets needed.

Yeah, this was more like a movie summary in my opinion. Why doesn't anyone have helicopters? Its easy to sound proof places, and helicopters are out of reach and make a ton of racket to attract monsters. Or say roll out the Thunderbirds, its audible to humans for miles, so a base just sends out those and everyone evacuates to foam packaging factories.
LightStone1603 you ever see sound echo cannons? It emits sound at higher frequency than we can hear but when it hits something it bounces off slow enough for us to hear it. A person can carry one in their hands and use it to distract them. We made them in elementary school for science fair so thatd probably work just fine too.

The director released their origins and it turns out they came from a planet that blew up and itched a ride on the rubble and rode it to earth. So if they can survive the destruction of a planet, the reentry into one, and the impact, I think they can survive a tank missile.

It’s clear that simply dropping a glass lantern is enough to attract one, and dropping an axe is enough to distract a monster on a truck. Your Shanghai-to-USA example is too far-fetched to make your legitimate question avoid sounding dumb.
However, there is the plot point of fireworks not attracting the other monsters nearby, but a shotgun can.

They would probably sleep in shifts in order to stop anyone getting too caught up in a bad dream and making noise or small durations to stop anyone going into a full sleep cycle and falling into lucid or deep dreams which could result in noise and also to keep someone aware of their surrounding at all time.

jordan605632 I think it's pretty obvious that the other people were killed by the creatures. The survivors were all living relatively far apart, as evidenced by the several fires lit while the dad was on top of the silo towards the earlier part of the movie. They were far apart, but not too far apart to within visible distance from a high place. That was the climax of the movie that the monsters were closing in on the overall general area. I assume you have seen the entire movie?? Maybe not??
jordan605632 the only way they had any idea at all that there were other survivors was because of the other fires purposely being lit each night. If suddenly no fires were being lit, then it's a pretty good sign that something happened to the survivors to keep them from lighting their fire. We know that the old man and lady were no longer around to light their fire that night. I got the impression that the old man was the first and only human the Abbot's had physically encountered in a real long time, and they know for a fact the monsters got them cuz dad and son saw the man get killed by a creature.
Signe Crawford I don’t think so, they were probably trying to signal their father that they’re up on the Silo. The camera didn’t pan around to look for the other fires and the kids were having an argument about whether he was coming to rescue them or not.
Besides he set the fire up around sunset while the time setting they were on was probably late at night or early morning.
It’s funny because the deeper meaning behind this movie is parenthood and how terrifying it is.
