@@scottwill19 Funny! Do you know the difference between arcade and sim? Have you seen other hockey games before made by other companies or are you like 12 or something? Smart-ass answer that is not smart at all...
99% of these goals: Dangle, dangle, never pass, wait for ai teammate to get into position, pass, one timer, goal. Whatever these guys are playing, it isnt remotely anything like real hockey. EA is to blame aswell because they have no competition. The only reason people still buy this game is probably because it has the official player names, teams and photos. EA said they stopped making the PC version back in the day because of reduced sales - yeah well, what do you think it does to PC sales when you put the next gen version on console only on purpose? I used to be a diehard NHL fan on PC (since NHL96 - i bought NHL 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004), i even bought a few console versions 10-15 years ago. After that i quit on the NHL franchise. EA hasnt done anything innovative or interesting with the NHL game franchise all these years. Let alone make a PC version. And they get away with it because people keep buying it. Ive given up hope on playing a decent NHL game on PC. And if this video, what im seeing here, is the creme de la creme in terms of World Championship skill and quality and NHL play on the highest level, i think ive made a good decision on not buying any EA NHL game all these years and wont for the foreseeable future. A shame, but such is life.
You have to control the AI’s positioning to be one of the best players. Rapidly switch from one to the next to keep them all in passing lanes. Otherwise yeah it’s one timer city.
@@ManOfRod97 which is why I said that they need to work on the AI. Just look off that one face off. The defender didn’t take his man, he left him wide open. It shouldn’t be too hard to program defensive positioning better.
@@patodonnell3328 That would make the game less fun if the bots could actually play defence. Remember that one NHL where you could just sit in front of your goal and let the bots take care of everything? This gametype will never be fair or fun in a competetive setting. EASHL is much more competetive and realistic as every player is actually controlled by a human.
I like that the commentary is there trying to lift the game up between competitors. The AI is absolutely god awful to watch. Watching the games play out you could see the goals before they happened, just had to watch for the AI controlled character on their own. I'd say it's a shame but it is more than a shame it's a joke that EA still releases the same game each year with a couple of new buzz words thrown out to act as if it is a change. The best thing the NHL can do is to can this exclusive agreement with EA and open it up to others being able to make the game. They have zero competition at this point so they can just phone it in every single year.
@Jordan H damn that's just sad thought it was like upper deck with cards where other companies couldn't use logos or anything like that bur your right just not enough of a return when making a nhl game for companies even ea doesn't profit that much from the compared to NBA and NFL
Too arcade’ish. Super stupid really… most years, the game starts out with real physics for like a week or two… then people in hut, and from lg complain… then it becomes an arcade game… again.
These matches are pretty cool and I had no idea that these were going on. I have NHL 18-22 on Xbox one and we r huge Predators fans here and we always play offline matches by recreating their season for each video game. Like we will recreate the 2017-18 season with NHL 18 and play every game for that season, which goalie was used in the game and what uniform (alternate or reverse retro jersey) they wore. It’s pretty fun.
The majority of these goals are bunk.... Hold LT/L2 skate around, wait for a one tee. They've perfected exploiting EA'S flaws. This game and it's players are a dumpster fire.
One question for everyone blaming the game: Would the game really be more fun if it played like „real hockey“?? I mean it isnt real hockey but its fun isnt it?
EA could make this game so much better. Remove all unnatural moves, like dangling with high speed, between the leg back hand passes that fly like slap shots, the spinning on a dime switching direction with 5 G force etc. That would make the game look, feel and play a LOT more like real hockey. It would also serve to slow the game down A LOT. Introduce more skill when it comes to aim, meaning, no auto aim for passes, or make the auto aim SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. This game has all the chances in the world to actually become good. But instead it looks like a soccer game or basket ball game, where all the players are dressed in Hockey gear.
This should be 6 on 6 eashl games… Also ea blows. No idea how they call this a well developed product… it’s arcade bs, which nobody wants. A poke check is a poke check…how is the goalie poke check one dimensional? Etc.etc.etc. Shameful.
Congrats to EA Sports for having absolutely no competition and releasing yet another annual hockey game that plays very little like actual hockey.
They are video games, it’s impossible to get 100% exact to real life, nor are they intended to.

Its like FIFA my man! Same bulls***
Not hockey at all! They Just score goals like that... Not attractive plays, no nothing
All u bums play skill zone defense
Really gotta work on the cpu AI. So many wide open one timers.

Literally same game year after since 5hey got the exclusive rights
They don’t have exclusive rights, it’s that nobody wants to make a hockey game lol
a buy the nhl each 2 or 3years to see the difference

It should be 10 people controlling each player. That's the only way to make this interesting lol
im glad I made my presence at 2:50 inviting him to a party ahah
lol
Just sweaty goals.
33:54 he did a perfectly good poke check and it didnt even work

Yup. My favorite was chewin tobaccey douche
You take cross crease goals out of the picture that jos kid doesn’t score a single goal lol
This should be 6v6 eashl not pay to win hut. So lame
glitch goal.. glitch goal… another glitch goal.. yawn.
Not seeing much real goals, most are the cheese goals or passes across the net.
Literally says "Finally" before he even passes the puck for the one timer goal. This game is embarassing.
There is a delay between what they see vs what we see
Ovie in the intro! Let's go! 💥 👍

Use the real teams and not HUT

Yes because all these idiots are doing is playing skill zone defense
how can these guys call themselves pro but just constantly shoot one-timers
