Nice to see a list of these historical markers within Gettysburg. I think they might sometimes get overlooked after spending the day looking at all of the monuments on the battlefield.
Wow, the link to the marker search engine is amazing. Great presentation, in a place where the Civil War rightfully dominates the scene, you make local history truly exciting.
@@timothysmith7742 I walk the battlefield several times per month, and I believe there would have to be major changes to the landscape to restore the battlefield. I asked a Ranger why there weren't more interpretive signs to help visitors understand the complex battle. The Ranger said: 'We don't like to have too many signs here." Oh, well.
Have you ever done a vid on where exactly the Gettysburg address was done? There are at least a couple markers at the cemetery but I think where he gave the speech is in a private cemetery behind the fence that isn't part of the park. Not quite sure of the spot.
People argue about the exact spot. It was never marked and yes, it is in the private Cemetery, just a little to the south of the National Cemetery fence.
Another great episode of Monuments Monday! Thanks Tim!
agreed good one
Another great job Tim - thanks!

So awesome and interesting!! Thanks so much Tim!
Cool information on "Gettis"burg.
Love Monuments Mondays!!! Tim, a question/suggestion, how about a "Tactics Tuesday or Thursday...?"
Interesting 🧐
I would love to see a segment on the equestrian monuments
Tim - If you know, is there any reliable source that would have a map of the Chancellorsville Battle area as it appeared in 1863?
That's a little out of my realm of expertise. Get on Garry Adelman's Civil war Page and ask him that question. He will probably know.

I don't know if you're including "indoor" markers, but if so you need to show the framed grave marker inside the bell tower at Prince of Peace.
I was thinking about added those marker inside the tower. I see about that when we get there.
