Man, this game was so good. I didn't get any of the references to the older Kirby games because this was my first Kirby game, but it was still very fun to me.
Dark Matter was the final boss of the very third game (Dreamland 2). Sectonia was the final boss of the previous game (Triple Deluxe). Galacta Knight is a misterious character that appeared many times in the series: his first appearance has been in Super Star Ultra, in some kind of "post-game" where you control Meta Knight like in this one. It is said that he is the strongest warriot in the galaxy. I know you might have got informations in this last months, but just to be sure I want to say it anyway. There are MANY other references but these 3 are the major ones.

sick! it already took halberd Kirby minutes to take star dream down but galactic knight took him down in second's! Also fun fact galactic knight is Kirby in 100%.In other words if Kirby was ready to awaken he would have been born as galactic knight!
