The first four Tull albums are melodic, exquisitely crafted masterpieces. Virtuosos, all. In my humble opinion, if Ian Anderson had looked more like Robert Plant, Gerald Bostock would have been as popular as Jimmy Osmond!
if you dont have the double gatefold popup then where you at. the newspaper from thick as a brick is really fun too. i agree with another comment. the first few albums before war child are all precious. war child was the beginning of the meh, but i still followed tull, still do even through several boring releases
So what? Music doesn't need to be perfect, or you get something like REO Speedwagon or - God help us all - the Backstreet Boys: slick, generic, and utterly forgettable.

I bought this when it came out. It's a great record. I always thought the pop up band when you opened the album was cool.
and they were second only to the Who live in this period--always great!
