Another upside for the point of Russia was its place as a world power.. Russia would be India today if not for this defence against western imperialist powers. As for Russia - they could not vote out Stalinism, unfortunately.. but still here we cannot vote out capitalism.. I tuned in because I'm a fan of Simon Montefiore, but Anne Applebaum (who to my knowledge has exactly zero experience in real estate and is a lifelong academic/author) spouting off about how the "entire NYC real estate industry in the 90's was Russian money laundering," and thus Donald Trump has deep-seated ties to the Russian underground is a little bit insulting the collective intelligence.
