- We were back in the Blue Mountains of Southeastern Washington!
I've started at the Panjab Trailhead a couple times before. The first time we did the Rattlesnake loop and the next time we took the Turkey Creek trail over to Meadow Creek.
This time we were taking the Panjab trail up on top of the ridge then taking the Mt Misery trail over to Turkey Creek. The weather and the conditions had other things in mind though.
Thanks for joining us on this wilderness adventure!
Jesse (HYOH-WU) & Kenny (The Idahonian) joined me on this trip, check out their channels!

Man the music at the end of this video just makes me so happy. . . 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
It is one of my favorites as well!
Can’t wait for all the trees to grow back and make it more mountainous like it was
True! For some reason this area just gets hammered by wildfires. I hope I get to see it come back!
Great to watch you again! You were missed....
Thanks for hanging in there! More videos on the way!
Great!

"Time for a little whik-key"! Great video as always Travis. I'm headed to the Clearwater.
Have fun!
Great job! Looking forward the next video as always. Hike on!
Thanks! Just watched your Bead Lake video today! That is an amazing trail, I've camped in most of those spots along the lake and even the one they took out to put the boat launch in.
@@mountainwanderer Bead Lake trail is a treasure! Cool to hear you have enjoyed it too!
Always, always enjoy your travels! Thank you!

The bad weather just makes for a good story! Thanks for checking it out!
Well it wouldn't be a Mountain Wanderer video without some snow and rain. Great video Travis.
It's starting to seem like that is the case... I've done 2 trips since this one and there was snow in both.. and some rain..
Your channel Rocks !!
Thanks for checking it out!
That weather doesn’t seem as bad when it’s video. Dang that was a pretty evening up on top! 🤙🏻
Can confirm!
That last night was one to remember for sure! I wish I had a camera that could pick up those satellites!
Day 2 looked like fun..even slowed Timber down.
He was ready to stop by the time we found a camp, that's for sure!
Awesome devolve at beginning from forest to trailhead sign. Way to capture the sights and sounds of a journey that gave us many challenges. Great Product placement at end. Thanks for letting me tag along MountainHouse Wanderers.
I have one Mountain House meal and now I'm branded... Where did you get that Chinese Jeep of yours?
@@mountainwanderer lol hahahahahahaha. The same place I got the name for my Chinese RUclips channel....a cracker jacks box.
A just-add-water Jeep
Thanks Travis, thoroughly enjoyed your trip. Good job!
Thanks for watching as always!

We didn't intend on being out there in that, but it happens... Thanks for watching!
I missed the music in the first part but I loved the silence, true sounds of the forest, 💕,,,,,
Beautiful video and scenery as usual, ... Thanks for the ever changing weather adventure 😉👍
I'm trying some different things with the videos these days, still a work in progress. Thanks for watching!

I like what you're doing 😁
I did the same trip several years ago. Or attempted to do it anyway. We got to table camp and it was covered in snow. Never did find the spring. Ended up boiling snow. I did post hole my way to Oregon Butte, but we ended up going back the way we came.
I'm pretty sure the spring at table camp has dried up. But the spring near Oregon Butte flows reliably.
Wow! Your story sounds very much like ours. We talked about camping at table camp and just boiling snow. I also thought about pushing on because I knew there was a spring near Oregon Butte. It looked like the route forward would've been completely in snow. In the end we just decided to stick with what we knew and went back to Indian Corral. Turned out great as the skies opened up and we had a great view of the stars.
Great video. You are in my backyard. I have always wanted to go up there just never had. Maybe this year
If that is your backyard, then do your self a favor and go check it out. The landscape is pretty unique from others that I hike in. It's amazing!
I love that area. Years ago, when I was able, I bow hunted deer & elk there.
I know the area is a popular place to hunt. Haven't seen an elk there yet, but deer, bear and rattlesnakes have all crossed my path.
Looks like a beautiful area! Day two looked like ass kicker. I’ve been there before where you are shooting for a water source then you can’t get to it so you have to backtrack. Looks like you made the best of it!
It's always rough when you're counting on water then it's not there. We lucked out and found an amazing campsite and the sky cleared up and we had a perfect view of the of the night sky.
I am hungry ! Even Mountain House sounds good. 13:50 Got to be awfully hungry.
You won't hear that very often out of me. It's pretty rare that I would even bring a Mountain House... It did taste good that night though.
My wife and I couldn't find that same spring when we were last there. Some of them are hard to find and they dry up if you go much later in the year. I see there is a new set of signs at the ridge trail intersection. When were last there, the old sign was falling over.
That was a real bummer when we got there and couldn't find it. I didn't think there would be an issue with water since we were still walking over snow piles... Hopefully someone will see this and not count on finding that spring.
@@mountainwanderer We had already spent a night at Indian Corral and were doing an out and back dayhike to Oregon Butte. We had two dogs with us and didn't carry enough water counting on that spring on the way back. Our dogs were so thirsty they started eating all the slushy snow we were going over (similar time of the year) and one ate so much he threw up a mountain of slush. Lesson learned: Don't neglect to hit known nearby springs even if you have to walk a bit further (if I remember correctly, the Oregon Butte spring not far down is very reliable).
Someone else told me that the Oregon Butte spring is pretty good too.
Have you hiked the 90-mile "Wonderland Trail" at Mount Rainier? Supposed to take about a week to circumnavigate. You have a video on Heart Lake in Montana, did you about the "Heart Lake" near Castle Lake in Northern California? Castle Lake is about 12 miles from Mount Shasta City & Weed, then there's a steep trail about a mile long up the ridge to Heart Lake & Little Castle Lake with stunning panoramic views of Mt. Shasta & Castle Crags. There's also great trails to hike at Castle Crags State Park, and rock climbers from around the world have climbed there. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.
I haven't done the Wonderland Trail yet, but it is definitely on my list. The Heart Lake you're talking about sounds like an awesome trip! Mt Shasta is beautiful!
You should publish this song . . . , it's beautiful
Thank you!
Have you hiked the Diamond Mt. trail at the Tucannon River Wilderness? It's about 9 miles and goes up to Diamond Peak. I haven't been to the Weneha-Tucannon Backcountry in years but I intend to return this summer for a lot of hiking & camping. I live in the Tri-Cities near the Columbia River, only about 2 hours or 85 miles away. I also like hiking in Idaho & California, and have wanted to hike parts of the PCT in WA., OR., and CA.
Nice! We're fairly close. I've only scraped the surface on the trails in the Wenaha. I haven't been on the Diamond Mt trail yet, but now I'll have to look into it. If you haven't been to the Eagle Cap Wilderness yet, you should consider going. It's worth it.
@@mountainwanderer Yes I have wanted to hike there for many years. I plan a camping, hiking & white-water trip to the Selway River in Idaho this summer, one of my favorite places on earth. Many free camping spots all along the river from Lowell on up to Race Creek Campground, 21 miles up river. I also want to go to the Sawtooth Mountains National Recreational Area & Wilderness. About 6 miles of the PCT runs right through Castle Crags State Park & Wilderness Areas. I think the "John Muir Trail" section of the PCT runs near Mt. Whitney at about 10,000'. Over 2,000 miles long, the PCT is very popular and very difficult challenge. I really admire mountain climbers but I couldn't imagine ever doing something like that.
