There's never been a game like Sega Saturn's NiGHTS... Never been a game that allowed you to fly in Real Time 3D!!! Never Not Anywhere... But especially not on that OTHER system.... PS2 - "Hold my beer"
I remember when I was younger the first thing I always did was read the manual, and the first time I got a wii U game I was so confused because there was just a little piece of paper. It's been like, five years and I still miss game manuals.
This is when Yuji Naka was still relevant before he started up his Bargain Bin Development Studio "Prope." Still haven't seen anything good come out of him yet since departing Sega.

Cool review! I'd always seen this game referenced in sonic adventure and i always just assumed that it was some saturn flop that nobody cared about. I've always liked the art style and thought i'd check it out here.
16:30 This is why I like the sequel "Journey Of Dreams" better, both gomes are great but the sequel actually characterizes Nights, giving her a voice and personality of beig a good person, but a bit rude and mischivious at times, but a good heart who'll help anyone in need. Vs her rival Reala who's an evil bastard, and Wisman even gets actual character aside from just being a random bad guy, and the story of the Sequel is actually decently meaty. A great scene being Nights meating the girl player and showing off her Persona mask, a symbol of loyalty to Wisman, and just showing it off and not havign much care for it.

Nights into Dreams is the reason I owned and bought the Sega Saturn and never have i regret it once! Until Final Fantasy 7 was a Playstation Exclusive (1997) at the time and well that's a story for another time lol! And the one released on the Wii was a joke and disgrace to the original Sonic Team (It should have been left as is with the androgynous and mystic of mystery was part of the appeal, story should have been added in the second one and the control's may have been updated but it really doesn't make it a better game plus control's are not as smooth on the Wii version) but when it was remastered and released on PS3/Xbox 360 and justice was served! Can't say I've ever played or owned the PS2 port but man would i love a sealed copy complete with the artbook and shirt! And Christmas Night's was a kiss on the lips to all Sega fan's from Sega!
I played this game for the first time last week on Xbox Series S! At first, the gameplay absolutely perplexed me, (I still don’t know what the stars do), and I found myself getting caught on obstacles constantly due to the camera being so close to NiGHTS, but after the first two levels, I found myself flying through like a pro holding my breath to see if I got a high score. The game’s story seemed almost non-existent as not even the opening cutscenes are really given to the player, but I found them later and fell in love with the art direction and how it wasn’t afraid to go absolutely bonkers. The music was a definite highlight as Dreams Dreams (the adult version thankfully) has been stuck in my head for days now and I don’t mind one bit. The bosses were intense as I scrambled to find their weaknesses, but I never lost to one in my initial playthrough. I never really ran around as Claris or Elliot so I have no idea what that gameplay’s like. Overall I give the game an 9/10 I absolutely love it now and it’s a game I will go back to a ton. I just wish we could get an HD remake or PC mod

One of my favorite games of all times. The sequel left a lot to be desired, but the original on the Saturn is a classic. There is no other game like it. Great review!
@@Legoluigi26 while i can't speak for everyone else, i can start off by saying the NiGHTS series is very niche and a more laid back experience where action and adventure the way it's known isn't exactly what NiGHTS does, it's not a game franchise a lot can really sick their teeth into so its very much a cult following type of game
thats fine, canonical wise it has no gender, but more often in material refered to as male, i believe even in the sequel he's been called a him in cutscene at some point.
