Hi man, Thank you so much for this. Just like you, I have been struggling to get this working for years! This worked in like 5 minutes! Amazing. Thanks again
I was too about 20 to be exact... lol I just could never get it to run ...enjoy your new found fun don't forget video card add on games like 7th guest won't run that's the dev for you but wiki it .
It works! I've had CDi in my Launchbox collection for ages, tried to get it working a few times then gave up. I was disapointed when you said that it's only compatible with CHD's as all my roms are Cue&Bin zip files, anyway I tried em and they all worked great! Thanks for the tutorial! Subbed :) Just a suggestion m8, your Mic volume is very low, I had to turn it up high, then when the game sounds came in it was LOUD! I couldn't hear you above the game sounds either. Keep em coming
Hi Lucas .... your the reason I do these video knowledge should be shared I tried for nearly 20 yrs to get it working and then something I seen then I change a few things then boom it worked so it set up ready to roll am glad it helped you on the sound thing my computer has dolby Atmos it just goes bananas when a game starts its Atmos kicks in wish I knew how to sort it "any help" take care bud
@@davidmcgurty1691 Hey m8, I've had Launchbox for 4 years, took me 3 years to 'Complete' it, currently got 100+ systems, 90% working, few obscure systems I've just got for preservation. Been looking through yer vids, any chance you could look into Sega Naomi? Every time I launch a game it just goes to the Demul launcher, I 've scoured the LB forums but to no avail :)
Hi the emulator doesn't have the option I guess the creator did not add it . I feel the same I like to try 7th guest too but use the Wikipedia page to see what needs video card
Excellent! Thank you very much! I am assuming another argument to add to the command line perimeters for fullscreen is: --fullscreen -nowindow --maximize I'm sure those should do the trick, if not, let me know!
I followed everything exactly and when trying to launch a game, I get this message: Fatal error: Device CD-ROM Image load (-cdrom (name of game) failed: No such file or directory. Any ideas?
It's almost pre set up for you it sounds like I directory set up issue like the bios have not been found delete and redo install again sometimes I jump a step maybe rematch video again .... its a fun system hope it helps and enjoy
@@davidmcgurty1691 Ok, I will try it again. Great vid by the way, I think I will be able to get it to work. Yeah, a lot of cool sounding games for the system I am eager to try out!!
Just got it to work on retrobat although I didn't get the play video cartridge part to work yet....at the moment. All I had to do was put the 3 bios in two different places and put the htm. In the mame hash bios.
Hi i am glad you enjoyed and found the video helpful since I did the video retroarch has had a core added called same cdi might be a better option now I still use my option but retroarch maybe there or better with cdi
Hi did you use the tab button to set them up as said the cdi only had 3 buttons if not please retry and follow the steps ..... let us know how you get on ..".news" retroarch now has a working core for cdi whicg was not avaible when i did video ....enjoy hope you sort it
@@davidmcgurty1691 aah i se thanks for the info it work better with retroarch for me and the buttoms work to as i want it finally i can play some philips cdi roms on retroarch

I just watched your video regarding how to get the Philip's CD-i up and running on the launchbox, and after the forth attempt l was successful, thank you, is there anyway to get the picture bigger than the 4:3 it kinda looks lost on a big monitor, 👍
I followed the instructions but when I try to add the Mess32ui emulator the default command-line parameters aren't filled in by themselves, and when I try to type them manually it says "type in one or more platforms" Also, is Mess32ui also working in 64bit computers? Mine is 64bit
My best advice is restart slowly over or use the new retroarch core maybe easier but not as much compatibility there is a core since did the video .... hope it helps and the cdi is a true great addition to add not all games work you maybe a were games that need the video adapter don't work you use Wikipedia for that...
Thx bro could have done it without you guide hope it help extra peeps on your own page feel free to link in comments to your page..... your is far the best guide on youtube.. thx
