I have yet to see a video that your guitar tone is not absolutely crushing. I think the guitars have some amazing clarity and your playing style just pulls out all these these crazy notes. Great shit dude..
I'm a/b'ing this module with my Diezel Herbert module and I find that the Ecstasy pretty much keeps up with the tightness of the Herbert, it's just got a different EQ curve that's more open, where the Herbert is dark, and a bit midrange-y and congested by comparison. Like the BE-BB module, the Ecstasy is one of those modules you pretty much HAVE to have because it has such a wide scope of what it can do. You definitely will get your money's worth out of it.
The Ecstasy sound kinda unforgiving. Any Mistake and Imperfection will immediatley shine through. But so clear. For a chordy thing this sound awesome. Cheerz
@@saminekunis8680 years ago i had the pleasure to work in the studio as an assistant to a big canadian producer, we blended and ectasy with a diezel herbert and it sounded killer, we previously tried the uberschall but wasn't as defined as the ecstasy
It definitely has that controlled GIRTH that I like for big chords, I feel if this amp had a setting to invoke a tighter attack and release response it would be perfect.. It sounds like it would be difficult to record fast rhythm sections with this
I have this module and agree 100%, massive thick sound, great for leads, to be tight enough for metal you need to cut the bass a lot. It is pretty dynamic and unforgiving.
Greetings John! Loving your channel and your playing style! I would love to see you review some Amptweaker pro series pedals especially the Tight Metal Pro. I've seen seem several demos of this pedal before but none that run it through all of the features or compare the difference between 9 or 18 volts. Cheers Bro and keep up the good work!
Man the Synergy is fucking awesome. All of your vids covering it have really done each module justice. I definitely dig the Uberschall more than the Ecstacy from what I've heard. My ears definitely gravitate towards a specific gain structure. I swear to this day that a Vetta 2 combo had some of the nastiest tones for all kinds of metal that I've ever heard. Period. I've noticed that Driftwood Purple Nightmare back there once or twice now, so I'm curious; how often does it get used buddy? All the demos I've seen on it make me wanna look into selling some organs to get one. Id do the same for one of your Duvells too. Think that whole selling a testicle thing to Vanderbilt in Nashville was a high school urban legend 😑 . Lame.
sounds great! what resonance settings did you use on WAZA? I got Synergy 50 head and I'm struggling getting good sound through WAZA. Its better low volume directly from amp
I've used a Ecstacy 101A for the past 10 years......This Synergy/Ecstacy module sounds familiar. A decent approximation the XTC sound. A real Ecstacy 101 has more punch & clarity.....and excels at a variety sounds. clean, classic, hard rock, fusion, and "some" types of metal. But for modern metal styles, The Engl & Diezel modules would be better choices.
Hi John. DADGAD tuning. In the interview with Ola, I heard you mentioning as well that you're using this tuning. Is it DADGAD or are you tuning all the strings some steps lower? Which tuning would you use on a seven string? I would appreciate your answer. Thanks.
StreetShooterMe he always uses a DADGAD style tuning, even on seven strings. Obviously is not always a D the sixth (as the fourth and first strings) and he generally tunes lower than that, but yeah, he always uses this style of tuning
Browne uses 3 different versions of the 6 String DADGAD. DADGAD (Animus), DADGAD -1 semitone so C# (Vanta) and DADGAD -2 Semitones so C (The Watch). On 7 String Monuments uses 4 different Tuning based on the DADGAD thing. So first its BbFBbEbFBbEb (Creator, Garden of Sankhara, Stygian Blue, Leviathan, Mirror). Then the same Tuning again only the 7th String becomes Ab instead of Bb. Thats the Tuning they used on the first Album most of the time. (Doxa, Static, Vessels, but also Atlas). And then there are the the 2 lower 7 String tuning. They are pretty much the same ecept they are -2 Semitones. So you have AbEbAbDbFBbDb which is the same one as the first but -2 Semitones (Alchemist, Quasimodo, Jinn) and lastly they have this lower Version with the double dropped 7th String, so your 7th Ab becomes a Gb. (I, the Destroyer) and then they have their open 8 String tuning, which is FBbFBbEbFBbEb. (All the 8string stuff Origin, Jukai, Degenerate Uncollective, everything 8 pretty much) Hope this helps. Cheers
Thanks a lot for all your videos. Keep them coming. Would be interesting to see a comparison between the real thing a the new mercuriall.com/cms/details_xtc plugin. The "real" thing is never going to be in my budget but the plugin...
When john browne looks up without moving his head, he likes the sound
Best Ecstasy Synergy module demo I've seen so far!
I don't even play guitar or even know shit about it. I just love watching this man speak and play honestly.
Pick one up then! Watching is fun, doing it yourself is even more fun!
I'm a drummer but honestly I'd love to try guitar out.

Thanks John, I ordered the SYN-1 to add 2 more channels to my Revv Generator 120, planning to purchase the Engl savage & Uberschall modules soon...!!
Had a Bog x in house clean def sterile, i dig what Eric Johnson did live! 3 diff amps w/pedals RULES!
Nice player. Really unique, cool style!
The playing just \m/. I just ordered a Syn-1 and an Uber model but the entertainment value of watching Mr. Browne just slaying is just killer👍
Still got it? Still like it?

if you like unforgiving amps you should try MezzaBarba amps
It just needs a good noise gate, that should clean things up, blended that with the Uberschall module, that could sound killer

Love the thickness and sag on this model...

It's compression reminds me of a Mark series Mesa a little, but still unique. Not really my thing I like open sounding amps
John, what are you’re thoughts on a hydra 7
string
You will always win with Jon Browne on your team!

You gotta switch your switch bro
John Brown.. don't hear that name often
😍😍😍
I Think that you're so used to play with great gear that doesn't seem that you're really liking the gear...
This sounds much better than Uber module (my personal taste)
Way too much low end in my opinion
Great sound. Can you play something less disharmonic? Omg. what an ugy music.
