Nice job figuring that out on how to detach the filter parts from the motor part. I see there are two white plastic clips one on each side directly in front of and parallel to the trigger button. Kinda nice and simple to remove that part. I expected it to be much harder. That is really handy to know; because, eventually one would want to clean that section too. Thanks for taking the time by making the video of the Dyson V6 Slim. I decided to add that I live in a bachelor apartment, and cleaned my whole apartment... carpet and floor... all on one charge, and I vacuumed the bed too. Plus I even had it set to MAX for a short time. I'm very satisfied with the Dyson's cleaning performance, how compact it is, and just how easy it is to use. Takes the work out of work.
My dyson sv04 smelled sooo bad, thank you. A little difficult at 1st but i played it over and over and finally got it. THANKS! Doesnt' smell anymore!!!!!!!
You are a champion! I left my powerhead on top of the 4X4 and it fell onto the road doing 50km thanks to your video it's all back in one piece with just a few scratches.
I can’t thank you enough for this! Mine fell apart (into three separate pieces) after getting stuck in the charger on the wall. I had to force it out of the charger and it just came apart! I thought it meant getting a new one. I managed to put it all back together after watching your video.
My wife dropped ours and it came apart and I couldn't figure out how to put back together. Was trying to reassemble with collection bin attached, which is impossible. This video gave me the hint I needed to get things back together. Thanks!
Yeah, we bought one of these Dyson vac. Got it today, tried it out and for that price I should've stuck with Oreck. Taking the plastic cup out is enough. Why even take it apart at the base of the motor? That seems like a lot of trouble. Thanx for showing us how to do it, however.
Well, he gave us a hint... I looked closely at that point and at either side of opening (where's he poking) there are two plastic catches the same color as the plastic body. With any small tool like a long thin screwdriver, push each tab inward towards each other and the canister will separate from the motor.
Thank you John-Del, your comment was more helpful than all the voiceless tutorials I have watched. Using your instructions, I have just successfully separated the canister from the motor. You've been awarded a Gold Star in my books. The only reason I needed to do this was to find the serial number! Perhaps they could relocate that in the future.

Thank you. Mine also fell off accidentally so I was happy to see that it did just snap back on.
This helped me fix my vacuum with a seized motor as I had to take off the turbine to turn the motor blades and get it working.

I took it apart but failed.
The purple part is called the "cyclone" and I found a replacement for the cyclone on Amazon for about $30. Haven't tried it out yet.
