@ dannysingful, Part 2: "I went right to bed and slept all night. I've never had any sort of dizziness since immediately post op. The only nausea I experienced was related to anesthesia. There was no pain really. The worst thing: not being able to wash my hair for a while and not being able to blow my nose for a few weeks. Do not blow your nose until about a week after the doctor says you can. My opinion. The risks are there, but my experience was good. One day I'll get the other ear done."

Thanks for sharing this. I have had a hearing loss in my right ear since I can remember as a young child and was diagnosed with otosclerosis when I was 14. I am 23 now and I felt like it was getting worse. I can't talk on the phone at all on the right side. I can't make out what people are saying on my right side, especially if there is a noisy background. I can't tell which direction noise is coming from. I had a hearing test done today, and it showed that I now have down to 50% hearing loss.

I feel you. I have 80% hearing loss due to osteosclerosis. Had the stapedectome at age 12 and worked wonders for one of my ears.

@ dannysingful: The patient in this video responded to your question. Due to RUclips's max character count restriction, I'll divide her answer into two separate posts:
"It'll be okay. When I woke up after the surgery, the vertigo was intense. Blinking made me feel like I was falling over when I was still lying down. I wasn't sure how my ride was going to get me home and into the house, but by the time I got home about an hour later I could at least stand, kind of. "

(Continued) The ENT doctor told me it's time to consider the stapedectomy and that I was a good candidate for it. So, i finally agreed. I have the surgery in 12 days, and I am really nervous. I don't know what new sounds I'll be hearing and if it will be really weird at first. The doctor also told me that I could start hearing better even within an hour of the surgery. I'm scared of how different it will sound, however I guess I should be excited. I hope I'll be ok. Wish me luck!

    Hello,
I really hope you read this post and can possibly email me. I have had stapedectomy surgery on both ears I need to know if it is ok to fly in a helicopter? It has been years and years since they were preformed and I ended up losing my hearing again due to inner ear infection in one ear. My other ear is ok and I am meant to be going on a helicopter ride. I cant find any information that says yes or no on the internet and my GP is unsure. I don't have time to get into a specialist :-(

This wonderful lady obviously hasn't read Isaiah's words in the Bible, look up Isaiah 35 :5; and 29:18, Jeremiah 6:10 and Mark 7:35 and Luke 7:22, nothing but nothing is impossible for my God Jehovah.
