Perfect timing. I went from 185 to 155 lbs. last year, and I'm in the process of buying a new wardrobe that fits properly. I'm trying to keep it small, since my weight may still be in flux. (Not quite as small as this challenge, though.) This, and your previous 20 item wardrobe, have been very helpful.
Just recently started following you, and, so far, you've been on point with most everything I viewed. You deserve a major league salute for not just keeping up the weekly pace, but also, addressing MAJOR fashion and wardrobe mistakes we men often make.
I needed this video, trying to elevate my husband's wardrobe so people will take him more seriously at work because despite of what he thinks clothing matters a lot about how people perceive you. He is a geek and a nerd and he would be perfectly happy for the rest of his life in shorts and graphic tees but its due time for him to have grown mans wardrobe.
The 12 items to build a wardrobe are on point. Style is in the heart, going into your wardrobe and putting together an outfit is classic. I would rather have 12 classic items in my wardrobe that fit and are tailored....instead of having 100 items that don't fit. A white shirt with brown boots and a pair of dark types of denim is a winner for many occasions. Hands down another classic video from Jeff the style O.G. SALUTE!
And you can probably snag any of these watches at a pawn shop for almost nothing. But those brands are solid for your first watch. Match the band to your belt for watch #1...and enjoy. It's a great piece of jewelry...we guys don't get many...and it does double duty...for time check you don't need to drag out the phone (cringe) snd it draws the ladies eyes to your forearm.
I still working on adding some “Dark Denim” to my Armor Kit. This week dropped a bit on some Impecable light Fabric Pleated Shorts. Some new Flat Front Chinos for lighter Trousers. As I have Lots of Light HQ Wool Trousers. Shirts of all kinds is the most variable pieces to add once I’ve got all my Trousers covered. As what shirt you choose to wear will vary based on how your weight fluctuates over time. But my Trousers size don’t change as much over 1-3 years. So shirts always vary to some degree fit me. But your helping me make changes in upgrading my style which does already have a bit of style wear in my Wardrobe. Especially since I also work at an office.
1 Tailored suit 2 Oxford shirt 3 Navy polo 4 Black T-shirt 5 Chinos 6 Dark Denim 7 Pair of shorts 8 Denim jacket 9 Bomber jacket 10 Black dress shoes 11 white minimal sneakers 12 Black lace-up boots those are my picks I really wanted to sneak in a gray crewneck sweatshirt as well ha ha.
A few other tips I tell everyone. This depends on your time period you are trying to look like. Jeans and tennis shoe and a t-shirt by itself doesn't fit my style more of 1920s guy. Also where you live makes a difference also. Down south it's hot even in winter so that something else to consider. Also your job. I wear dress and casual boots I don't own shoes. I have a farm and it rains alot here so Redwings and dress boots are what I wear. Great video as always 👍
A trench coat (for those who live in rainy places). Aquascutum is my favourite, but I’m afraid you cannot buy them anymore. Still, there are nice alternatives, like Burberry or Gant.
I like your channel and the topics especially men’s clothing. You have given me some great ideas and looks to discuss with my husband to build his wardrobe. I like each piece you shown today. The chino pants, and Oxford shirt are definitely winners along with the overcoat. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely clutch video for a broke college student like myself! I didn’t have to dress nice this year (pandemic) but campus is opening up again in the fall- would be good to have minimal clothes to go a long way!
Loved your choices especially since I am trying to downsize and minimize! I feel you nailed it .That actually be a great starter wardrobe too ! Perhaps another video, for youngman getting out into world.
Excellent video... You stayed on point with all the pieces... I agree having versatility in your wardrobe is a must... It doesn't take a lot to have a great wardrobe.. Salute..
Great choices, Jeff. I'll have to look into a gray sweater. But the other pieces you mentioned are pieces that I use when traveling for business and they have allowed me to pack lightly for trips overseas without taking too much stuff. The O.G. knows of which he speaks! SALUTE!
1. Oxford white Button down shirt. 2. Brown Brogue shoes. 3. Navy Blue denims. 4. Denim Jacket. 5. Chinos. 6. Navy Blazer 7. Overcoat. 8. V-neck Grey sweater. 9. White Sneakers. 10. Wool trousers. 11. Navy tie 12. Black Tshirt.
Spring sneakers, or did I miss it. Been knocking off choices from past lists and could not be happier. Great list for this video. Been working through these as well. Love the the channel and the content!
OG, you give the best advice. My wardrobe is well over 12 pieces (thanks to you 👍) but I'm constantly getting attention and compliments. Even the young ladies say that they wish their fella would dress like me 👊. SALUTE
Hey Jeff. Can you talk about different fashions for men who are big and tall? I know that you have done some in the past, but I am a size 50-52 pants and 3x-4x, and I don't see a lot of videos for guys like me. I am 50 years old as well. I want to look trendy but I don't want to look like I am trying to be too young. I still love my Jordans.
Hey Jeff, A great selection of items for us guys. My favorite items on the list are the blue blazer, the oxford shirt , v neck sweater my go too with dark denim. Salute to the family. I need to pick up the white sneaker.
Wow 12 items that's tough . . . but I think you did it. The only caveat is your tie should be textured, a silk tie may not blend as well with your other pieces. Thanks Jeff!
As a follower/studier of your work, I think this might be one of the few examples where timestamps or an end of video recap or even a pinned comment with a list might have helped. It's a very densely packed video with tons of great information. Keep up the great work regardless. Eddie - New Jersey
Another outstanding video! I am going to cheat a little and suggest a navy suit as a single item. It’s what you need for weddings, funerals, job interviews, awards ceremonies, and (heaven forbid) court. It’s classic, and a good one will last for many years.
A good watch is important as well when a young man is building a wardrobe. Bambino Orient watches as previously recommended (in one of your older videos) for their affordability and style.
You and Kevin Samuels are two of flyest and stylish reviewers on RUclips but you bruh you brings it all the time, every time. You've given me pointers as far as clothing and fragrances that I will forever use.💪💪 "THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
This is a great video for a guy just starting out and trying to get an actual sense of style of course more will always come later on thanks for the video man
I love the idea of a white oxford, but don't they sort of dirty quickly? Especially around the neck, or is that only when you're wearing it with a tie?

I’d switch the sneakers for some chukka-like boots, but this is a dope “minimalist” wardrobe rundown. Props to the questioner.
Appreciate the feedback!
Chukkas are best
This is one of the very best style channels on RUclips. Classic style.
Thanks Erik!
No excuses to not look smooth!!
None !
Well done, Jeff. Challenging, but you did it, a full wardrobe with only 12 items.
Thanks Lou !

Always brings the knowledge and style. Great job O.G ❤

How about a video where you wear as many combinations of those exact 12 items as you can think of ?
