I really loved to see this film. I've left my ex-husband 2,5 years ago. He kept the house so I have some money now and am seriously thinking about building a tiny house. I know I could do it myself, but I also know I won't have the energy to do it. What you said in the end really touched me. No, I won't let getting divorced stop from forfilling my dreams. In the contrary. I hope to be able to finally live my dreams.
@@greentorm5467 I know of 2 women who followed their husbands with children in tow, and get nothing even when he dies. No house, no money. Both men were in some branch of US Army. These are much older folks. I hope it's not that way now.
I LOVE her wood floor and counter top, and I especially LOVE that she used Habitat For Humanity's Re-Store to recycle things into her build, and keeping things out of the landfill!!! Awesome tiny home!!

I've viewed a lot of tiny homes, regular home renos, conversions of buses and trailers, builders of log cabins in the bush all while putting in many hours assembling shoe inserts that I invented and sell, but this tiny home's builder is the most delightfully inventive, innovative and creative in using found material and repurposing things. The closet made from a door cut lengthwise into two is brilliant and novel. This tiny home has loads of unique effortless style and the builder is a genius salt of the earth lady.
There is something about this tiny house that feels like a real home. That floor! So maybe it’s all the wood and the bay window, the nice improvising. I watched it twice just to be there a little longer. And yeah, she is such a nice person. Thank you for sharing!!

Best, most functional homemade tiny house I've ever seen (of hundreds I've seen). I love, love, love the tool chest kitchen counter/storage and the moveable steps/step stool. Love that it can be off grid and that you used so much recycled and reclaimed items. The bathroom vanity is gorgeous! And two bedrooms! GREAT BUILD!!!
I have watched hundreds of tiny house tour videos, and this hands down is my favorite! It literally incorporates SO many things I love, like the sun/moon theme! I love the "comfy area" with bay window! I adore the tool box idea! I really love the bathroom... The mirror above the toilet is beautiful, and the mirror with tiffany style lamps (my favorite kind of lamp) is gorgeous! I also love it when a tiny house has a bath tub. I just am totally in love with this house!!! Ohh, and I love the bathroom sink, and all the cloth tapestries!! Love Love LOVE!!! PS- Miss Maisy is precious!!

I’ve seen hundreds of tiny houses and this is by far my most favorite! Not only is Kim delightful, but the house looks like a home with all of her personalized decorating. I wish I could have seen how the bedrooms fit above the door.

I think this is my favorite yet. I love how she's made the best use of the toolbox, desk dresser, ect. Half moon windows. I really admire when she said she doesn't believe in chemical cleaners. She's wise.
Have you asked her whether she would want to be exactly like her if she had a chance to change things? Be you. Seek what You want. Maybe your wants might be what she wants but be sure you don't know every detail about her to desire to be her.

Love it! I'm living in a tiny camper that I've put lots of work into to make a home. My parents and grown daughters think I'm nuts and think I should get an apartment. But it's MINE! All the privacy and silence I could ever want. Plus, I am away from an abusive control freak ex that was always threatening to throw me out. I call my little home, "The Robins Nest". 😊 I rule this roost!

I needed this. I just turned 60 and have been in the process of building (sorta) my tiny house for 5 yrs. Have my 24' trailer (bought 4 yrs ago). I had the money but trusted the wrong person to help and got taken to the cleaners. After 2 yrs, I finally got my trailer back with a very crude shell built on top. I have to tear it apart and start over. And with all my years of research and collecting items for my house...I'm scared. I want this more than anything (for my retirement) and won't give up but putting that first foot forward in the actual building, which I have no experience, is daunting. Thanks for the very much needed encouragement!! You're right! If you can do it, and the 16 yr old I saw last week can do it, and the mother/daughter duo I saw can do it, so can I!! I just need to pull up my big girl panties and pick up a hammer and drill and get started in ernest. You have a beautiful home. One I'd be very proud of. Best Wishes on your journey! I too dream of owning a tiny home since buying a conventional home after being divorced appears to not be obtainable. Not sure if I have the ability or the support from others around me to build one.😢 When I mention tiny home to my family they think I'm crazy but I truly feel like this is for me and that I would be happy. I didn’t hear your name but what a beautiful build!! Not only did u make it ur own but u repurposed so so much and totally made them ur own as well! Awesomeness and super amazing!! Congrats!! Just so u know if u look around the St. John’s area of AZ there is acreage small and big for sale for usually under $1000 an acre. It all sits over two large aquifers of water if u wanna drill but even rain catchment is welcome and sustains families w children even around Phoenix area. No restrictions basically and solar wind or whatever welcome. Lots of wildlife and the even better part mild weather year round. Is even listed as the most moderate weather year round online even outdoing Florida, Cali, Colorado u name it. Rarely gets into the 90s much less above it and winters are mild also especially once sun is up for the day. I am saving up now to move. Land can have low down and low payments no credit required for those interested really easy to accomplish for most. Some in city lots most outside of city but city is small town life with a middle to small country population size and really warm and inviting people. Weather is mild do to white mountains and puts one at about 6000 ft above sea level but not big snowfall and what does fall is gone within 24 to 48 hours max. All of my love the love blessings and grace of our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY unto all of you and yours today tomorrow and for always!!!

5:33 I have a Gladiator Workbench in my Kitchen that we use as a counter. Everyone loves it. My Fiance was nervous at first until he saw it. My next plan was to get the Tool drawers to go underneath. Now I can show him before just doing it...

I love the resourcefulness. Most people can't afford custom craftsmanship for every aspect of their home, so it's amazing to have someone show what you can accomplish by being smart and committed.

I didn’t hear your name but what a beautiful build!! Not only did u make it ur own but u repurposed so so much and totally made them ur own as well! Awesomeness and super amazing!! Congrats!! Just so u know if u look around the St. John’s area of AZ there is acreage small and big for sale for usually under $1000 an acre. It all sits over two large aquifers of water if u wanna drill but even rain catchment is welcome and sustains families w children even around Phoenix area. No restrictions basically and solar wind or whatever welcome. Lots of wildlife and the even better part mild weather year round. Is even listed as the most moderate weather year round online even outdoing Florida, Cali, Colorado u name it. Rarely gets into the 90s much less above it and winters are mild also especially once sun is up for the day. I am saving up now to move. Land can have low down and low payments no credit required for those interested really easy to accomplish for most. Some in city lots most outside of city but city is small town life with a middle to small country population size and really warm and inviting people. Weather is mild do to white mountains and puts one at about 6000 ft above sea level but not big snowfall and what does fall is gone within 24 to 48 hours max. 5:33 I have a Gladiator Workbench in my Kitchen that we use as a counter. Everyone loves it. My Fiance was nervous at first until he saw it. My next plan was to get the Tool drawers to go underneath. Now I can show him before just doing it...

One of the best I've seen. The ceiling is so high it looks just like an ordinary house. Wasn't expecting the bedroom upstairs even so. What a fine job.

This is 1 of my favorite builds I basically just watch and don't ever comment hardly. She has everything placed just right to me. We have different decor tastes but I love I and it works amazing for her she did an extremely good job.

Kim, you are an inspiration! Good. For. You. Your home is adorable, so many lovely and artistic finishes. A solo woman, I recently purchased a shuttle bus and had it converted into an RV. My home base is in FL, but I spend summers in western NY. I would love to meet you on the road some day. By the way, I have a lot on a canal in FL that is zoned for mobile homes and trailers.
