    For anyone who works on this same car in the future, it has a cool feature where you press the button that tells the car your driver's side front door is closed 5 times rapidly and it puts the car in a test mode and cycles a bunch of stuff including the AC compressor clutch to see if it functions even if your freon levels aren't right. Real easy way to test if the compressor clutch is the problem or not.

      @@Max-lx8xk it's kind of a button, it's just the little thing that gets pushed down when you close the door telling the car the door is open/closed. Press that 5 times fast and it will go into the diagnostic mode. I'm pretty sure it was just that one button 5 times but if that doesn't work for some reason search for it on the infinity forums. I used it to figure out my AC clutch was shot while the system had zero freon in it

    A few days ago I had my car parked for a few minutes in roughly 90 degree heat. Had the AC running at near full speed. I'd been driving for about an hour prior. Got back in my car, turned on the AC and the car started to shudder, and felt as if it was gonna a turn off so instinctively I revved it. The car ended up shutting off and the check battery light came on for a few seconds after I turned it back on. AC stopped working afterwards. Any ideas on what it could be? I don't hear the compressor kick in when I turn on the AC.

    • @fixitish
      @fixitish  4 года назад +2

      It could be that your compressor is about to seize up and that’s why it stalled on you. Or it is seized and that’s why it’s not working anymore. The battery light coming on after it stalled is normal, only if it was still on when you have the car running then you have an issue with the charging system

      If you were able to get some ac gauges on there when it isn’t working you could see where the pressures are at. When the compressors are weak the low side pressure will be on the higher side. Atleast That’s what it sounds like to me

    • @fixitish
      @fixitish  5 лет назад +1

      luis ortiz not always is the whole compressor bad. Most of the time is really just the clutch that goes bad but we end up replacing the whole compressor it’s just easier that way. Less work to be done. You’ll still need to remove the compressor from the car because it has very limited space. Or remove stuff infront of the compressor that will be in the way.

The car instantly started to shudder and I can smell burning rubber from the ac vents. Car didn’t shut off but I did turn off the ac. I checked the belt and everything is in tact. Drove it home and tried turning on the ac but only get hot air. The fan and engine idle changed but no ac. I checked all the fuses and nothings blown. The ac clutch is also not engaged when ac is on. So I had a similar issue and mechanic recommended the compressor a while back so I swapped out the compressor for a new one to then notice the condensor leaking… changed that myself as well but now my comressor doesn’t engage. I’ve filled it with the desired amount but it just goes up and slowly drops but there’s no leak. I’ve been told since the compressor isn’t engaging it’s not moving the Freon so kinda stuck right now with the compressor not engaging have any recommendations ? Also has a new pressure switch

      I would go back and make sure you didn’t leave anything unplugged or that the connectors are fully plugged in. Double check everything you did, even check the charge to make sure it didn’t leak again. I’ve had that happen I think it’s good and it leaked overnight.

    hi! i know this comment is so late on this video but im hoping you might answer my questions! so our g35 ac was perfect until got into a little fender bender but it was minor and is on the passenger side mostly on the headlight not damaging any internal components or anything but anyways the ac stopped working immediately after that. there isnt any leaks and the air still blows just extremely hot. just a few days ago when it was raining i tried to see if it would work since it was getting so humid with the windows up and it magically turned on for about 10 min and started blowing hot again. we are here in surprise and its been so hot this summer in az and im not sure if i can go any longer without it! please help

      @@caprisun444 this is probably gonna be an issue within your wiring since it works sometimes and then other times it doesn’t. I see lots of cars that have issues after accident that had the wiring damaged. Even if it’s not anywhere near the ac or Looks like it reached the ac wiring another area could have been damaged and those wires could lead to the compressor or high pressure sensor.

    I have the same exact car and the A/C it’s not working, the compressor it’s not kicking, it blow hot air, it doesn’t have refrigerant, I tried charging it and the compressor started making a noise like an old engine, and my engine turned off. What would it be? Someone told me it’s the compressor but I have not idea if it’s that.

    • @fixitish

      Nestor Blanco more then likely the compressor is seized or on its way out if it turned your car off.

    • @nestorblanco4842
      @nestorblanco4842 4 года назад

      And the reason why it’s empty of refrigerant it’s because of the compressor or it has a leak?

    • @fixitish
      @fixitish  4 года назад

      Nestor Blanco it could be that the compressor seized and cracked then it would be leaking from you compressor but you won’t know until you get to working on it. If it did seize your gonna have to do a flush on the system and replace a few parts in the process.

    Hi man, I have 350Z 2008 which has the same engine Same Compressor. I want to repalce the AC compressor but do you have any idea how much Pag Oil I need to add to it? The new compressor typically comes with a small amount of oil, but you should add the total system oil capacity minus what you drained from the old compressor. For the 2008 Nissan 350Z, the total system capacity is approximately 6.75 to 7 ounces (200 ml) of PAG 46 oil.

      Not in this situation, the compressor clutch went out so nothing went wrong internally so I didn’t change it and it was fine. Normally I’d be changing the whole ac kit and flushing the system when it gets messed up internally
