You seem like an honest man, I would say that what you said is exactly correct. If it’s too much money to have you do the job let them go elsewhere. So now how has it worked so far, have you been doing much work with it this summer?
It has been an incredibly wet summer, and I have had a tough time finding jobs that I wont absolutely destroy a lawn with the tractor, or bury the tractor in the mud through the woods. That hasn't deterred me yet though. I have used it a couple times, and it works very well for what its designed for. As long as you manage your expectations and know you aren't going to be mulching a 12" diameter maple tree with it.
@@EverythingElliott definitely been a wet one, we are in Baldwinsville (CNY) and it seems like I’m cutting the grass every 3 days or in between the rain! Yeah I wouldn’t expect it to be very effective against a 12” maple but that’s ok. Slainte, DC🍀
Awesome! I can’t wait to see how well it works on our size tractor. I been looking at them but I can’t really find any videos worth watching everyone wants to do the speed up or timelapse. Your right about different areas having different prices the skid steer here are 150 hour with 1 day min (8 hours) up to the dozer/skidder style 2,000+ a day.
That's a good idea, only thing under there that could possibly take damage would be the hydraulic filters. I'm sure I could whip up a set of guards for them.
I think your pricing is spot on. I also like the concept of the mulcher except for two things: 1) That will have your neck in agony after a full day of it but, probably no worse than cutting with a bush hog in tight quarters. 2) That looks like a fantastic way to tear up a tractor 🤬!
I can’t imagine it’s going to be any harder on my tractor than my tiller is, and the only soft spot under the belly of the tractor is my hydraulic filters, which I’m planning on making shields for
That’s a beauty, well, that grind down stumps too, or that’s just for brush. The wood chips will be flying. This summer might have to put a piece of plexiglass behind your seat to keep you from getting bit. I think it’s a good investment Elliot. I’m still very surprised you don’t get a cab for that that Kabota unit is a multi seasonal unit. A comfortable operator is a happy operator.
Can't wait to see how it does - i'm curious what your impressions are of it after working with it for a couple of hours. Specifically around: 1. With it being mounted on the rear - neck soreness from consistently looking behind 2. How well protected you feel from any debris that potentially flys back towards you as you're mulching
You can actually drive forward with this if you’d like. I’d probably only do that in thin brush, but it’s not much different than having to snow blow my driveway. And as far as safety goes, I believe the unit is going to be close enough to the tractor and discharge chute is low enough that it would be a spectacular event if something found its way up to the operator station. That doesn’t mean I won’t be wearing all my PPE while operating. I also plan to make a second chain set to slow the debris down even more after exiting
I'm pretty excited about it that's for sure! I havent really decided whats going to go on the front. Grapple makes sense, not much I would be doing with my bucket. I know using it on my property I want to keep the trees and cut down the under brush so I might take my loader right off so I can weave in and out of the trees easily!
@@EverythingElliott check out frostbite for a grapple, but you like to weld, so an extra, or used set of pallet forks, box blade teeth and a hydraulic cylinder, and you can figure out the rest. Great channel keep up the good work
I'll be interested to see if you can get away with not having the loader or some counter-weight on the front to offset the weight of this implement. But as you say, this is a lot closer to the back of your tractor. I'm interested to see it in action.
@@peterwarnstrom8872 I dont think it would be too much of an issue, it's only 1200 lbs. Might be a little light in the front, but I don't think it will be anything dangerous.
I just happened to know a guy that makes all kinds of things to fit Kubota. His RUclips channel has his website on there his name is Paul and Kathy Short. Check him out and check out what he has done to his 2 tractors. I've been watching him for ar least 10 years. I would love to see him in person but he lives in Newfoundland. The big rock.
They sure do but if you check the date I posted that video vs when Kubota came out with the product, you’ll notice I made these before they were commercially available

I think you made a good investment I would love to be able to afford that mulcher myself. Have fun mulching 👍🚜😎
Things are finally dried out enough that I can actually use it, time to put it to work!

I’ll do my best with videoing! The camera is def going to be in the danger zone so I’ll have to be somewhat careful, cameras aren’t cheap!
You mentioned extra chains, but I'd be looking at extra shielding under the tractor.

Great video and your pricing sounds just fine as well, look forward to seeing it run.
I can’t wait to give it a try! Thanks for watching!

It will grind stumps level to ground, won’t go subterranean. And I think my next tractor will have a cab, but for now this one needs to earn its keep
😊 nice. Great video understanding your pricing.
Thanks! And I tried to break it down as much as possible!

Thanks for watching!
Curious to see how well that thing works. I have a super heavy duty flail mower and like it a lot better than my old brush hog.
I’m pretty interested to get it fired up, just gotta wait for the end of mud season.
Looks great. What does something like that set one back?
Just about $15,000
Coolest thing you can hang on a tractor. Congrats. Gonna Ron a grapple on the front?

@@neildufresne5342 I've been eye balling those frostbite grapples to be honest...would work way better with logs than my current root rake grapple.

Kubota actually make and sell the tubes to hold chains and what ever fits in there
